Central America- what bag/purse to use? Backpack? Cross body?

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone, happy Saturday!

We are going on Celebrity Equinox for our honeymoon to Western Caribbean/Central America.

Our last cruise was in Europe and I used my designer purses on all our excursions.

This cruise is different- we will be doing adventurous excursions and I will be dressed more "sporty." I assume I would dress differently in Colon, Panama than Venice, Italy? Will be visiting countries like Belize, Colombia, Costa Rica, etc.

What do you use to carry your belongings? Should I get a sporty cross-body bag or a backpack? What works best?

Any tips? Thanks in advance :)

Depends on what I need. Backpack if I need to carry a lot of stuff, crossbody purse if I don't. I have 3 that I use most often - small lesportsac (fits a change purse, small camera & phone, lip balm - that's about it), ebags Piazza nylon bag that could carry a small water bottle and map, and a Pacsafe citysafe 200 that carries more, like a raincoat if I might need it later. I also have an xl ameribags healthy back sling bag that I always wear crossbody - it's old at this point and I don't travel with it, but it fits a LOT and is comfortable.

Hi:) I have a few different crossbody bags I like to use. It just depends

on you and what you like to carry. I don't bring "alot of stuff" on tours

so I don't like anything "really big" but I don't want to have it too small

either;). I have been using the same ones for quite a few years. They

are a good nylon, strong, but lightweight and quite a few pockets, with

an adjustable strap. Enough room for everything I need.:) Oh, they

have good zippers too (which is something I like).

I tend to use my Kipling cross body as I like the different compartments etc.

I have used a lightweight backpack but I find them harder to access.

Pickpockets like the latter as they can unzip zippers without you knowing.

Also, what do you carry inside the bag ( water bottle, jacket?)

Thanks everyone! Went to the mall and looked at the Kipling and Pacsafe bags. I will think about it :) both were nice! The pacsafe backpack was nice because my fiance can wear it too.

DD loves her Pacsafe backpack. It's been all over Europe.
