Darn, no toots tonight. Well, we can hope for better tomorrow. It's rare for HAL to have the same ship on Dave and Lou's cameras 2 nights in a row.

About an hour. Many first-time Canaveral visitors looking for a cheaper, closer excursion take an air-boat ride on the St John's river and marshes.

Sure hope so. Disappointed in no toots last night. The Veendam is now meeting up with the Ft. Lauderdale pilot and should be arriving in the cut soon.

Isn't there a ruling about ships not being allowed to toot after a certain hour at night time?

I know that we have watched many ships leave late from Ft Lauderdale -- no whistles.

Also when we left after 7 PM last March on the Westerdam -- no whistles.

I know that we have watched many ships leave late from Ft Lauderdale -- no whistles.

Also when we left after 7 PM last March on the Westerdam -- no whistles.

That may be, but 7 or even 8 sounds a bit early. I can kind of see it for Ft. Lauderdale, which has lots of housing close to the cut, but Port Canaveral is in an industrial area, and we could hear lots of noise in Fishlips. I'm not sure who the Veendam Captain is now; Pieter Bos got off with me in late August.

 

I will start a thread today for the Port Everglades sailaway.

We don't keep track of who the captains are on any ship.

Maybe the captain in Port Canaveral didn't think that anyone would be watching the web cam or maybe he doesn't even know about the web cam.

I'll be looking for the new thread.
