agree with the self serve laundry, and pizza.

They used to have the self serve laundry on the Dawn a few years back but I hear it is gone from there. I loved it being on an 11 night with 2 teenage girls trying to impress girls gets to be a bit much with the laundry!! LOL :D

1. Add some new itineraries, such as Australia, South Pacific, Far East, different Caribbean islands.

2. The website is a mess clean it up and make it simple to use.

3. Pizzeria would be great addition

4. Last but not least, get rid of the new CAS points system. Nobody likes it!

I am always odd man out. I perfer Pepsi over Coke.

The Coffee card would be nice.

You're not the odd man out. I don't drink soft drinks, but I won't support Coke while they support the Russia Olympics.

Soft drinks and politics? Sorry, to deep and fizzy for this pilgrim (as I open another can of Excellent 'Coke Zero' to suitably complement my exquisite 'appo political' dark rum! My contribution to getting into training for the February Equinox Carribean sun over the yard arm games. Pull up a chair, theirs plenty of room. cheers everybody!

I recently asked why some of you favored NCL as one of your favorite cruise lines, and the answers were very interesting. While still keeping it's unique experience (or umm, price), in what ways could NCL improve?

We haven't sailed on Norwegian yet, and I think the only drawback is the food in the buffet and MDR (at least from what I'm told). On the flip side, you can't argue with the price, highly rated shows, and entertainment. I've watched videos of every major cruise line, and Norwegian passengers are among the most enthusiastic!

I liked the food in the buffet...definitely not a drawback for me. I would like different options in the MDR....I seem to have a difficult time finding things that appeal to me on NCL's MDR menu. But that is subjective and probably just my problem. I didn't enjoy Mama's either. I find their pasta has a bitter taste to me...again subjective and probably just my problem. The item that in my opinion could use the most improvement is the desserts. Most are just tasteless. Service and entertainment are great although they could lower the cost of bingo a little. I would love it if at least on of the chairs on the balcony to be reclining like CCL had....I really missed that on our last cruise. Finally if they could start making the rooms just a little bigger.....

The food in the buffet is on par with any other ship, what everline I have sailed. I have eaten once or twice in the MDR (I really dig all the NCL specialty resturants), it was not bad at all. I had the pork chops. I really liked them and the waiter could tell. He brought me a plate of 6 more. Oh boy were they good. Mind you they were the thin cut ones, carmelized and chared to perfection.

A cruise is sort of like an amusement park. They are all a bit different. some perfer Disney other Six Flags or what ever. I will have a great time regardless.

The pork chops were one of just a few item on the MDR that did appeal to me and I agree....they were great, as were the tempura fried mushrooms I got as an appetizer with them.

1. Tighten up the nonsmoking areas. Maybe one side of the ship balcony rooms could be nonsmoking.

2. Not to start an arguement or debate. This is just my opinion/preference. We like traditional cruise dinning. We would like to be able to have a set time/table and maybe wait staff. I have talked to others that would also like this option. Freestyle is great for some but others do like the traditional dinning. We like the way Carnival does it with anytime dinning but we can still choose traditional dinning.

Freestyle is one of the main reasons we choose to sail NCL....it would be a real bummer for us if they changed it. I like the option of 1 MDR being more formal and the other more casual vs 1 1/2 being traditional and 1 being Anytime. While I like Anytime I don't like how Carnival tries to pack them in as tightly as possible in the Anytime 1/2 dining room.

I'm only one person. Corporations don't care what I think. The only 'vote' I get, in order to agree/disagree with corporate behavior is my money.

So yes... soft drinks are political. So are hotels, cruiselines, fast food restaurants, gas stations, and many other entities.

Some people gravitate toward Coke for taste, I gravitate away from them because they subsidize some pretty awful stuff. And I wasn't saying you have to...but I get to vote too, and my vote is for Pepsi.

geeze, I didn't even know that: even though I am not a soft drink person, hubby is: I think I will investigate what they subsidize. We do pay attention to some companies and try to support the ones that have interests similar to ours.

I've read through this entire thread and I'm so surprised loyal NCL cruisers haven't mentioned perks for repeat cruisers. On RCCL, repeaters get many things like plush bathrobes, at least 2 cocktail parties and coupon books. I've gotten nothing on NCL, maybe one cocktail hour.

Website, for sure....

As a solo travelers, I'd like to see them alternate entertainment on the expensive ships. The Epic, which has studios, is the cheapest cuz now it's the oldest. Why not switch BMG with Hairspray every year? Or change up the entertainment every 3-5 years?

But the studios and specialty restaurants, and H2O seal the deal for me!

I don't know how many times you have sailed NCL, but the frequent guest program is better than some, for sure. There are 2 or more parties, depending on your level, and you can order any drink you want. On Celebrity, we could not, the party was nothing, over crowded and hardly any staff members were there. The same with Princess until you reach elite status. Maybe you are not aware of the features Latitude offers. It was changed a few years ago. Of course, if you have only sailed a couple of times, you are right, the program doesn't offer much. But even the cocktail party has door prizes, I haven't seen that at the other ones.

Only some small things as I'm always having the time of my life when cruising:

- Huge ships are awesome, but packing 4.200+ guests on one ship is just too much. Try to improve the ships, but try to keep the number of passengers reasonable.

- Switch back to Coca-Cola.

- Try some new itiniraries. It's always the same... we want to see cruises to Africa, Asia, etc.

- Pricing for drinks is somewhat strange. $2.65 for a coke is fair, but $9,99 for a beer and even $16 for a cocktail is just too expensive.

Since NCL was the first cruise line to sail year round out of New York, those cruises have been very popular. What they need are ships with year round swimming pools like the 24 hour indoor pools on Princess, the solarium pools on Royal Caribbean or the retractable roof swimming pools on HAL. Such ships are needed for their winter Caribbean cruises and their fall Canada cruises out of New York.

Oh no, do not take away freestyle dining! It's the reason we won't cruise any other line (I've heard anytime dining isn't as good as freestyle).

Anytime dining is anything but on RCCL! You have to make reservations for a time, and of course, getting the time you want is pretty much impossible. If you just "show up", you'll get snarky sarcastic remarks and may have to wait. We did find it to be easier on Carnival, no reservations at least and we never had a long wait to be seated. We have preferred the RCCL ships over Carnival though.

This will be my first NCL, because of the itinerary, so interested to see how freestyle REALLY works! Already having to make show reservations, etc. takes away from that concept in my opinion.

From reviews, I would like to see the casino smoke that spreads to other decks and surrounding areas on Breakaway, dealt with. Seems to be a prevailing complaint.

4. Eliminate the "we have to swipe your card" for complimentary drinks in the casino. It's awkward, and silly and wastes paper.

I was just on the Jewell and they did swipe the card, but they had a hand-held machine, you didn't have to sign anything and there was no paper wasted.

Where did you get those prices? Most cocktails on the Breakaway were about $7.50, and wine about $8.50, and I didn't see any beer close to $9.99 (DH drank Newcastle all week, and it was covered by the UBP). Prices here at home are higher, and I'm headed to an annual even in Philadephia this weekend, where, at the hotel, the house wine in the lobby bar is $15 a glass (hope it didn't go up).

The things that I would like changed;

1) All beverages included in the UBP - with NO blackout.

2) The Haven cancellation policies and deposit amounts the same as regular cabins. Got caught with this earlier this year and lost a deposit on a cruise when I thought I was still in a penalty-free timeframe.

3) Drop the Pizza delivery fee - petty.

4) Better chair patrolling for chair hogs.

5) Swap out the Blue Man Group with another show to keep things fresh.

Thanks!

(PS: I prefer Pepsi products....)

I'm guessing, without any price increases on fares! LOL!

I know that most if not all cruise lines do this but I don't like when a cruise line cancels a sailing due to a charter. Like a Rosie O'Donnel or a band or any other celeb. In my opinion it is distasteful in any line and sends out a bad vibe.

None of us like it and I agree, but normally we are given 6 months or more notice and like you said, they all do this.

This might be silly, but I'd like to see larger glasses on the buffet. Everytime we ate at the buffet my husband and I end up using two or three different glasses when we go, since you aren't supposed to reuse a glass (germs)
