Secret upgrade!

So! I just wanted to share something.:D. You guys may think I am nuts, but I just upgraded us from a D5 cabin to a GS!

 

My Dad just had open heart surgery and my brother, sister and I have been very stressed out. A couple of days ago, my brother and I went to a casino after visiting my Dad and I won 5,000 bucks!:cool: AnywAy!

 

We always consider extra money as "fun money". So! I used my fun money to upgrade to a GS! We have never stayed in a suite before and this will make us Diamond members. My husband doesn't even know I did this, but he will be fine with it.

 

Am I nuts or what?!

P.s. I realize that we could go on another cruise with this money.

No, I wouldn't say you are nuts. It's your money and you can't take it with you when you go. I say enjoy life as it's too short too many times!

 

I hope you have a fabulous trip and prayers to your dad for a speedy recovery.

 

Please come back and let us know how you liked your suite.

He will love it, I'm sure! We usually book insides (so that we can cruise more often:)), but I once took an upsell to a true aft balcony to Bermuda and surprised my DH with it. It was an awesome luxury for us, as your suite will be for you!

What a great idea! Now, all you need to do is hide it from him! PS your luggage tags will give is away, as well as boarding priority!

 

So maybe let him know at breakfast that morning!

 

I am here to tell ya, you have been warned! GS is just plain super! And you have access to the CL, priority boarding, personal escort when it is time to disembark...plus the services of the Consierge!

You are right you could have gone on a second cruise with the money -- but this will be a very special experience in ITSELF -- enjoy the Casino winnings -- TREAT yourself to something EXTRA special.

 

Life sometimes is short; when given a special opportunity -- it is GOOD to take it.

Making special memories is what travel is all about. Even if you never cruise in a GS again, this special cruise will stand out forever in your memories.

 

I surprised DD with an upgrade from a balcony to a GS last year and it was so much fun. The planning, the anticipation and the complete shock was awesome ... she never figured it out until we got into the cabin ... and then initially, she just stood in confusion, because she didn't understand why it looked so different. But when I told her I'd upgraded us she went into serious giddy overdrive bouncing around the cabin and reveling in the novelty of all that space.

That is awesome about winning the $5,000 and upgrading to a GS! On our Allure cruise this year we upgraded to a jr. suite, and I was sooo happy with that, that it made it the best cruise ever. So just imagine how great it will be in a grand suite!!!

 

p.s. We will be on the Quantum ship together, 1/11/15.

 

Can't wait to hear how you loved your suite, and hopefully see pictures! Enjoy!
