Easiest way to downtown Cozumel

What's the easiet way to get to and from downtown Cozumel from the ? We'll be sailing on Liberty,does anyone know how much a taxi will cost or is it walkable. Some in our group have physical limitations and some don't and will have no problem walking if it isn't too far.

It's about a 10 min walk from to the south end of town at Starbucks. If I remember right it was about a $4 pp cab ride, but the walk was nice.

You do not want any one with limitations walking to downtown. It is longer than 10 minutes if you are at the International Pier. Taking a taxi is your best bet.

Was just there 2 weeks ago. A total of 8 bucks for a cab for 4 people from international pier to downtown.

I thought it was close to 4 miles from the International pier to downtown. We walk it every time we go there but it's about a 45 minute walk.

Understand knee problems!! When we were there in April my knee went out and I got a wheelchair to take me from the ship to the shopping area and back. Not fun, but it worked and all it cost was a tip for the chair driver!

Never saw a tram in Cozumel. Not even a golf cart, either.

Cozumel taxis are very inexpensive and plentiful.

I was in Cozumel last month, the taxi fare for DW and I was $8.00 from the International Pier to Ponchos Back Yard. The distance was 3 miles and there are sidewalks the entire way.

Is more than 1 0 minutes walk, I was in consumer once and we were like " it's close we can walk" and it was really far from the ship.

From the International Pier it is a mini hike. We walked it once and then took a taxi back to ship. Loved the walk over since we saw things we wouldn't have otherwise. Cozumel is typically very humid for most tourists and that makes the walk seem farther. :)

 

If you want to make best use of you time, however, a taxi is the best way to go.

Taxis are a flat $8 for the first 4 people each way to and from downtown from the International Pier. Don't remember the prices for larger groups.

 

We took the taxi to the far end of downtown (Forum Shops) and walked through downtown back toward the ship and grabbed another taxi back when we were done walking through downtown.

 

It's a 7-ish minute cab ride to the far end, about 5 minutes from the near end. There's no way to walk that in 10 minutes.

Ditto on the $8 for up to 4 people - that was what was quoted.

 

We were there last week and my sister was in a wheelchair, so rather than mess with a cab we walked to the Carnival pier just south of where we docked (Brilliance). Go out to the main road, turn right and it is about five minutes down on the right. The Carnival pier has lots more shops and restaurants and really looks "upscale" compared to Royals. All decked out for Christmas, too. We had lunch and drinks at Panchos.

Maybe you will get lucky like we did on Jewel in March and have the ship park at the downtown pier. :D
