Which pier in Curacao

Hi Copper, :)

Yes, all good points and the sail in is beautiful.

I find it annoying they don't open the gate at 'a possible' entry to the dock and we walk down the hill and around and the retrace our steps back to get to the gangway. I wish they'd open the gate at the top of the hilly stretch. :) ......................

Often wondered about that! It would, no doubt, be more convenient

Maybe you'll make a constructive observation to the authorities next time you are docked there? :D

It isn't a big thing but after a hot afternoon and lots of walking, those last steps seem harder each visit. :)

Sounds like a plan

I just checked and the port arrival/departure times for both ships are listed the same today as on 2/18. Based on what you guys have posted, I suspect that Roy (rafinmd) is right and that the ships will dock the way they are today! Thanks!! :D

When I was there on the Crystal Symphony Captain Symonds mentioned that part of the assignment matrix was the arrival and departure times. We docked further up the channel since Luna was leaving before we did and would clear the channel at Mathey before we departed.

The Zuiderdam and AIDAluna are in port today and AIDA is at the Megapier. I suspect that all the factors are the same 2/18 as they are today and AIDA will again be at the Megapier and Zuiderdam at Mathey.

Good point but it is possible that the port authority will swap the berth assignments. When I have previously been there a RCL ship was at the Mega pier and we were docked at the Mathey pier. The next time I went the same RCL ship was there but the berth assignments were swapped and we were docked at the Mega pier.

I emailed the Curacao port authority yesterday and they replied:

The Zuiderdam is scheduled to berth at the Mathey wharf, which is the first pier inside of the harbor channel on Feb. 18, 2014.

Mystery solved ... and YAY!! :)

smart idea:D

I had forgotten about the two different berths. Going to take a look at the website to see if I can determine where the Maasdam will be.

Just a heads up; There are four different cruise ship berths at Willemstad
