Limon on Zuiderdam (re: ship vs local time)

Can anyone that's done the Panama Canal Sunfarer cruise confirm that the ship is or is not on local time when docked in Limon? I want to make sure we hook up with our guide at the right time but he thinks some ships switch to local and some do not. It'd be nice to get this locked down before we arrive.

From past experience MOST HAL ships switch to local time, but not always. This won't help you, but the night before you will get a note in your stateroom announcing any time changes.

My memory of my cruise is that we were on local time.

I've only stayed on "ship's time" on HAL once, and this was not the port.

When we did your cruise, the ship did change their clocks to the local time.

Thanks, all. On an RCCL cruise in the Caribbean last summer they stayed on ship's time the entire cruise and it was very confusing when doing private tours. Glad we don't have to think about it this time around. Barb :)

We were definitely on local time when we were there.

 

And have been in every port we have been in - South America, Europe, whatever.

 

That's why HAL changes time IMO.

 

You can check on board of course, but I don't see an issue.

Most likely, the ship will change to local time.

You can be sure the private excursion guides will know exactly when your ship is arriving. This is their business and he doesn't want to miss you either.

On the Ship right now and heading back to FLL. Yes, we did go to local time for all Ports! I recommend JavcaTours for a private tour!
