motherchic Posted January 28, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 28, 2014 I was wondering if you would be willing to share your favorite menu items that you have enjoyed at the speciality restaurants. How much are the restaurants? And also have you enjoyed the Tamarind for lunch?
cruz chic Posted January 28, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 28, 2014 (edited) Love the Penang curry, Vietnamese lamb and the spring rolls at tamarind. I find lunch to be mediocre. The pinnacle is$29 and I think the tamarind is up to $20 now. Edited January 28, 2014 by cruz chic
bshow Posted January 28, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 28, 2014 I really enjoyed the Penang Curry and the halibut sashimi at Tamarind for dinner. Did not try them for lunch.
sail7seas Posted January 28, 2014 #4 Share Posted January 28, 2014 Jewels of the Sea Soup and the Chocolate Won Ton for dessert. :)
Thebes Posted January 28, 2014 #5 Share Posted January 28, 2014 Tamarind should be free on sea days. They should have dim sum. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
cruz chic Posted January 28, 2014 #6 Share Posted January 28, 2014 Tamarind should be free on sea days. They should have dim sum. Sent from my iPhone using Forums It is free at lunch any day it's open port or sea days. It is a fixed dim sum menu.
Rare cbr663 Posted January 28, 2014 #7 Share Posted January 28, 2014 We really enjoyed the cedar planked pacific halibut with shrimp scampi at the PG. The wasabi and soy crusted beef tenderloin at the Tamarind was wonderful. I would definitely order each again. The porterhouse steak at the PG was recommended by the waiter. It wasn't great. I would pass on it.
Krazy Kruizers Posted January 28, 2014 #8 Share Posted January 28, 2014 Even though the lunch is free at the Tamarind, we did it once, very skimpy offerings -- it is a set menu and DH went away hungry. Dinner -- what we like -- JMO: Jewels of the Sea soup Shrimp Tempura Streetside Pot Stickers Spring Roll Delights Pan Asian Hot Pot Baked Snapper in Rice Paper Wasabi Beef Tenderloin Mango Cloud Almond Chocolate Fortune Cookie I can't comment on the Pinnacle Grill as there is a new menu and a different brand of beef. rkacruiser Posted January 28, 2014 #10 Share Posted January 28, 2014 While my PG dinner did not meet my expectations, my dessert did. It was called a "Pinnacle Souffle" and it was good.
Thebes Posted January 28, 2014 #11 Share Posted January 28, 2014 Would love to try the won ton desert as someone pointed out I think it's S7S. Very interesting desert. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

The pinnacle is$29 and I think the tamarind is up to $20 now. True. They have gone up last month. Can't wait to try mint lamb. I only tried it in middle eastern restaurants and it is my favorite meal. Now will be trying a new flavor. Thanks cruisechic & s7s for sharing your experience with this meal. cruz chic Posted January 28, 2014 #13 Share Posted January 28, 2014 Would love to try the won ton desert as someone pointed out I think it's S7S. Very interesting desert. Sent from my iPhone using Forums It's huge:D or at least it used to be. I couldn't eat the whole thing in one sitting. I had to take 1/2 home. I like the tamarind chocolate and last time I had the tempura ice cream. That was good but I hate to think of all the calories in there. Not that the other ones are calorie free. Typhoon1 Posted January 29, 2014 #14 Share Posted January 29, 2014 Even though the lunch is free at the Tamarind, we did it once, very skimpy offerings -- it is a set menu and DH went away hungry. We too, did it once. Had to stop at the Lido for a bite after leaving there.
sail7seas Posted January 29, 2014 #15 Share Posted January 29, 2014 We too, did it once. Had to stop at the Lido for a bite after leaving there. I don't care for steamed dumplings so we don't go to Tamarind for lunch.
Rare Vict0riann Posted January 29, 2014 #16 Share Posted January 29, 2014 Don't like lunch in the Tamarind, but for dinner, the duck is to die for! (With the shrimp tempura or pot stickers to start, and the mango cloud for dessert - I'm making myself hungry!)
KirkNC Posted January 30, 2014 #17 Share Posted January 30, 2014 My favorite is the creme brûlée served on Le Cirque night.
Typhoon1 Posted January 31, 2014 #18 Share Posted January 31, 2014 Tamarind's Beef Tenderloin at dinner is probably one of the better offerings.
catl331 Posted January 31, 2014 #19 Share Posted January 31, 2014 The chocolate fortune cookie for dessert at Tamarind. I find the Tamarind menu to be very interesting. Most who do not like Asian see to like the wasabi beef. The staff in the Tamarind are excellent! I always liked the steak Diane at the Pinnacle but it is gone! I just do think the Pinnacle is worth the money as you are already paying for dinner at the Main Dining room also.
