]Good Evening from the Sheraton on Canal St in New Orleans. It has been a very long but very first day of travel , we really had fun today but have decided to call it a night. We are off to a great start. Have to say I am impressed with the hotel and location we were able to walk to and from no need for a taxi.tomorrow late morning we are going to Cafe du Monde for beignets.

Lisa,

You are definitely staying at a prime location. Your photos bring back memories of many trips to New Orleans. Cafe du Monde is one of my favorite places - love those beignets. Bon Voyage and have a great cruise!!

Good morning from the Sheraton on Canal St in Nawlin ;)

We slept quite well last nite but Hurricanes and 2 for 1 Margaritas can help that too : D

It looks to be a great day out we are getting a late start since our friend Kathy did not sleep so well she has a lingering cough from a cold a so coughed quite a bit last nite so she slept in really late. We are about to head out shortly.

I wanted to mention that if you plan to stay at this Sheraton in the future they will offer you $5.00 a day back going green if you so not have Maid Service in the form of a coupon that can be used at the Starbucks in the lobby or any other restaurant here at the hotel.

Also the beds and pillows are very comfortable :)

I am really glad we decided to come two days in advance it gives us just the right amount of time to unwind so that we can enjoy the Jewel.

The rest of our little group will be arriving today so there will be more of us going out tonight. I have to say I would definitely stay here again and the walk really is not far to Bourbon St and really all of the French Quarter.

Signing off till a bit layer today

I also want to thank all if you for following along. I just called Verizon to go ahead and make my phone a hotspot I think it will be easier using my iPad rather than my phone for some of the reports that I will just be writing and not adding pictures. Tomorrow I will try to post lots of pictures of boarding our cabin and the ship.

Lisa I have had a hotspot on my iPhone for a while and use it when we are at the coast, with no wifi..…it works great with both of us using our iPads.

Good afternoon from Canal St Sheraton in New Orleans, we have done a whole lot of walking today walked all the way Decatur well past Jackson Square. Cafe du Monde had await that some in line were saying 3 hours to get in so we went to a place called New Orleans Famous Beignets

Then walked some and shopped then had lunch at The Market Cafe where enjoyed fried Shrimp and Fried Crawfish, Gumbo Tom had a beer, Kathy and Bob had Margaritas and I had one of the Best Bloody Mary's

Then after lunch more shopping, I will be glad to get on the ship to relax ;)

Oh I wanted to mention Bob and Kathy had a great view of a RCI ship from their room so of course I will be down to their room catching a early peak of the Jewel

Good Evening from the Sheraton, ok as many of you tell and know Tom and I live in Las Vegas the Original "SIN" City we been there sine 1978 so have seen plenty but let me say I honesty think New Orleans has Vegas beat but then this is Spring Break. Ok I have to ask and have not had the nerve but can anyone explain "what is the deal with the tu tu's" not sure I spelled them right. You see them all over to buy. Then we saw several bachelorette parties and the girls wearing them ??

Tonite we headed back to Bourbon St to go back to Pat O'Brien's for dinner surprisingly they seated us fairly fast but there was 6 of us. We had a fun time I had a Seafood creole Etouiffee not sure I spelled it right but it was amazing. Ok then before we left I wanted to have a Mint Julep.

After dinner we headed back Rita's Margaritas and had our same server as last night, really a sweet girl.

Of I have to add a pic of Bourbon Street

This has truly been the most interesting Pre Cruise stay ;) but it has been lots of fun.

Tomorrow is the big day, I am do looking forward to returning to our favorite cruise cabin. Even though we have never been on the Jewel we were in 10666 on the Pearl and the Same cabin on the Dawn even though it was a different cabin number. This will feel like home.

Well time to do some reading then dream about washy washy on the Jewel :D

The fun has begun :D it has already been perfect. We decided not to take the free transfer that came with the Hotel since we wanted to have am early lunch in Cagneys. It was the typical crowd to get through security but it did go fast. Once we were got to the Suite check it handed over the credit card we were escorted to the VIP Lounge, they were already boarding passenger. The first person I saw that I knew right away was Virginia our Concierge, she was our Concierge on our last NCL on the Dawn. So got big hugs she said when she saw our name she knew who we were. It is so good to have such a warm welcome!!! I cannot tell you what a great feeling we have coming on board the Jewel. I so love the crew already and the Vibe on the ship is so amazing this is truly going to be an amazing week!!!

Here are some pics so far
