MisterFidgetpants Posted December 2, 2015 #6702 Share Posted December 2, 2015 Thanks! What type of room was that in? (Curious what rooms have a coffee maker; that's a nice touch). Pardon my ignorance, what is the wood shelf/ottoman?

MichelleDavison Posted December 2, 2015 #6704 Share Posted December 2, 2015 My mom has been assigned to an accessible oceanview - 5108. Has anyone posted pictures of this cabin type. Apologies if this has been asked before.
bucade Posted December 2, 2015 #6705 Share Posted December 2, 2015 Sorry if this has been answered but don't have time to go searching the thread for it...can we not book a spa treatment until we get onboard? I was looking at ncl.com after logging in and can't seem to find where or if you can book before boarding. Thanks if advance!

I'm betting a lot of people left stuff inside of them when they left. Harriet
Rare eroller Posted December 2, 2015 #6709 Share Posted December 2, 2015 The bathroom is exactly the same as the Getaway. With one exception. The leg shaving bar in the shower is gone. Not sure why they decided not to include it on ESCAPE?

Harriet I liked using it as a dirty clothes hamper on GETAWAY. Worked great. Disney has something similar. The coffee table opens up for storage. Too funny -- could be a hamper one cruise and a repository for food and drink on the next.

FreestyleNovice Posted December 2, 2015 Author #6713 Share Posted December 2, 2015 Blegh. Hehe! Not sure how profitable the mini bars are anyway/if anyone really uses it, not that I want them to leave them out in future designs but I also can't see them installing empty mini fridges for guest's convenience. bcolli Posted December 4, 2015 #6714 Share Posted December 4, 2015 can anyone say what the outlet situation is in the room? Are there any USB charging ports? Does the bathroom have a US plug or only Euro style plugs? We had USB's in the lights on each side of the bed plus 3 US plugs on the desk. I don't recall the bathroom, but I don't remember any Euro plugs.

Loonbeam Posted December 4, 2015 #6716 Share Posted December 4, 2015 Rumors only but apparently they A> were hard to keep properly clean and B> possible complaints that they took up too much room in a limited space. calgaryhhr Posted December 4, 2015 #6717 Share Posted December 4, 2015 Can credits for the slot machines be purchased using both cash and the onboard account? Do the slot machines provide a cash out receipt when you are done playing or is everything handled through the onboard account?
Peripatos Posted December 4, 2015 #6718 Share Posted December 4, 2015 Can credits for the slot machines be purchased using both cash and the onboard account? Do the slot machines provide a cash out receipt when you are done playing or is everything handled through the onboard account? Yes to all above. You can use your own US cash in the slot machines or take cash advances charged to your room directly at the machine. That way you can pay for it on your credit card bill (or however you pay off your onboard account at the end of the cruise). There is a 3% credit card fee for room advances unless you have attained the casino status of "Gold or VIP", then it is free. The slot machines do have an updated program on the Escape which allows you to get the money left in the machine when you wish to leave in two ways. If you hit the button to cash out BEFORE you remove your room key or players card, it will print you a ticket for the amount that you can use to play another machine or cash out at the ticket redemption machines next to the cashier booth. But if you remove your room card/players card first, then it automatically adds the remaining money to your players account and the next machine you want to play at you have to log in and have it download money from that account to the machine. This part of it is like Princess, Holland America, etc. have had for a long time. Dave

weltek Posted December 4, 2015 #6722 Share Posted December 4, 2015 With one exception. The leg shaving bar in the shower is gone. Not sure why they decided not to include it on ESCAPE? Dam* it! I was unreasonably happy they thought to include it on the Getaway. Used it every day. Sure it's not NECESSARY, but I'll miss that thoughtful touch. Peripatos Posted December 5, 2015 #6723 Share Posted December 5, 2015 It is not a CC fee it is a convenience fee payable even if your anboard account is in credit. Sorry I called it by what it is (the fee to cover what NCL is charged by the credit card companies) and not NCL's politically correct term "Convenience Fee". Rare insidecabin Posted December 5, 2015 #6724 Share Posted December 5, 2015 (edited) Sorry I called it by what it is (the fee to cover what NCL is charged by the credit card companies) and not NCL's politically correct term "Convenience Fee". If your account is in credit there is no CC fee it then becomes a fee to cover a non existent charge. If your account is entirely set up in cash, you are still charged this fee. It isn't a credit card fee. It's a fee paid to NCL for the convenience of withdrawing cash from your shipboard account.
