Do you think the Haven pool will be 5' feet deep? Oh man I hope so.

Also if we brought a ball to the pool would we be allowed to use it? We would only do it at times when next to no one was there. Early early morning or evening.

The reason why I ask is my DD plays water polo and she will need to train a bit. She would rather do it in the pool than the gym.

Putting my flame resistance suit on. Yes I know its a vacation, yes I know she is just a kid (14). When you play at her level you can not take a week off without having it effect your play and she will be in the middle of her season. with a very important camp just a few weeks after we get back.

I would have to think training would have to be very early for there to be an empty pool area .. Either in the main pool or Haven area. I am being complety honest with you. I have two young adult children and elderly parents I will be cruising with 1/9 haven suites and if I were relaxing by the pool while one was trying to practice with a ball flying back in fourth in such a small pool area I would be bothered. I am not one to complain and would most likely leave the area if it was that bothersome but I try not to let much get in my way of a great vacation ..

I would have to agree with other posters. I've been on several cruises and whether it be a spoken or unspoken rule, no one generally uses pool toys / equipment in the pools. The few times I've seen it happen, it prevents others from enjoying the pool which isn't really fair. Even if the pool is empty at the time, as people gather in the area, they may feel uncomfortable getting in with someone tossing around a ball. I would error on the side of being considerate of your fellow passengers.

Saw this on Facebook Group:

For those with UDP, it IS included for unlimited use there and there is no up charge. Is this true if you have the 7 day UDP that Margarittaville is no charge?

Maybe you are confusing UDP with SDP. UDP is no longer offered -- it was available as a promotion or purchase. It's for the whole length of the cruise. SDP is by number of meals 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7.

People are reporting that with UDP, it's no charge. With SDP, you use up one of your meals. Do yourself a favor.... use your SDP for a nice dinner at Cagneys instead.

We have UDP so this is good to know. I guess I will find out in two weeks. Just find it strange that you can't get a hot dog, burger or fries at the pool.

Is UDP one specialty restaurant a day or can you go to Margaritaville at lunch and Cagney's at dinner?

I do not think it was 5' deep. Closer to 3.5 - 4, if memory serves. I'm only 5'8, and I was only chest-deep.

We arrived yesterday as well. We had a great time. Spent many hours at the Wine Cellars and absolutely loooooved Food Republic. We had four dinners and three lunches there. We were fortunate to stay in the Haven and had access to the Haven Restaurant, which is wonderful, but we still chose Food Republic most days. That is how much we loved it! Also, spent quite a bit of time at Sugarcane Bar enjoying the delicious mojitos and chatting with other passengers at the bar. We met many nice people. I came down with a cold on Thursday and was feeling rather lousy by Friday night and was very disappointed we really could not enjoy our last night on the ship. But all in all we had a terrific and relaxing, vacation. I am ready to go back! :)

Hi! I really enjoyed chatting with you guys as well! I am already missing those delicious mojitos. I ended up trying all the different flavors! Thanks, I do feel a bit better. It helps that we were home and I was in my bed by 9:00 a.m. yesterday. :)

My review of Escape:

We sailed on Escape 11/21/15 through 12/5/15. The ship is absolutely amazing and beautiful. Stepping onto the ship is like being reunited by family with many of the crew who we have become personal friends with made the sailing extra special as always. Sean is the absolute hotelier and he and his team always go the extra mile to ensure our vacation is the vacation of a lifetime. He is Numero Uno HD. Rashida the HD secretary is awesome and she is just amazing. She is the best of the best. Asst HD Errol goes above and beyond as well as FB Director Martin and Bar Manager Jose. Ronney D'Souza the Executive Houskeeper made sure our cabin was filled with my favorite towel animals. Cabin looked awesome as always.

We were in cabin 14282 which was close to Aft elevator which was a great location. First week we had a fabulous room steward named Arvin. He was fabulous. Second week it was not Arvin and you could surely tell the difference.

We saw the show Million Dollar Quartet which was a fabulous show.

After Midnight was an okay show but I found it to be too long. Just so much tap dancing one can stand. Howl at the moon was lots of fun. We enjoyed it very much. Wine Lovers was nice show as well. We seen it twice on Getaway and loved it here as well. We also saw the Brenda Braxton live cabaret show which we loved. She was engaging and funny and has a fabulous voice. It was a dinner show and the food was very good as well and fabulous presentation of the dishes.

We also went to Brat Pack For the Record also a dinner show, show was fabulous however dinner menu needs lots of tweaking.

We dined in Le Bistro, Moderno, Taste, Savor, Manhattan Room, Pincho, Food Republic, La Cucina and Margaritaville . We ate in Margaritaville the first week when it was still a complimentary dining venue.

Food in all dining venues were top notch and well prepared. Service was a bit slow but I was on vacation so really didn't care. Wait staff seemed happy and smiling and engaging except in Margaritaville where not many smiled. Maybe because it was just too hot there for them.

We really enjoyed the atrium and would listen to the music after dinner there and chat with awesome Jr Bar Server named Loan from St Lucia. I never seen anyone takes orders and clean tables as fast as her.

The cupcakes on the Escape from the bake shop were 100 times better then the Carlo Bakery ones on Breakaway and Getaway in my opinion. Great change.

My only complaint was when walking under the beautiful chandelier by Le Bistro the smell of smoke from casino was very overpowering. Sometimes you could actually see a haze of smoke and it made my eyes and throat burn. That issue really needs to be addressed for sure. I really don't know how people could dine outside there in Le Bistro with the heavy smoke smell.

I liked the layout of Sugarcane Mojito Bar better on the Escape and really didn't get to enjoy it on the Escape so I really can't rate it.

I never ever in the two weeks onboard walked through Garden Cafe so cannot comment on that as well.

Mini Golf was fun as well. We didn't spend anytime on pool deck , just walked through it as we do on all ships.

I can say this was a fabulous two weeks onboard the Escape and I look forward to doing it again soon with my Norwegian Family.

So, with reports like this of the heavy smoke, does anyone know if they are going through with the proposed partitions in the casino or has that plan been dropped?

I loved the escape. Had an aft facing on deck 13 and def had a little bit of soot each morning. Overall a great cruise we had 4 people and the longest we ever had to wait to be seated was 5 minutes. Only one day of poor service in one of the MDRs rest of the time it was great. Boat definitely feels rougher under rough sees than all the other ships I have been on. That is my only complaint. Had an awesome time!

Glad you had a good cruise. You skipped many things that might color other reviews, buffet and pool deck. We also very rarely use those items too so your review was very useful.

The smoke is still an issue.

my DW is not going to be happy. That's one of the she really likes about the bathrooms on the Breakaway and Getaway.

Celebrity Cruises actually came up with the idea, when their "leading ladies" were helping to design the Solstice Class cabins. All the ships in that class have them. NCL followed suit with the Breakaway Class.
