Princess cruises (pcl) has announced a new effort to become a more enviromental company by introducing controls on wasted toliet paper. The new policy comes into force on all sailings commencing after April 1st 2014 and will see a nominal charge levied on rolls of toilet paper. A charge of $3 plus 15 percent gratuity will be added to your stateroom folio, Princess will provide 1 free roll per 7 days sailing. These new charges do not apply to suite and elite passengers. Princess will also not be changing out guest towels for cruises of 7 lays or less. New fees for the changing of bath towels and bed linens as of April 1, 2014 are listed below:

 

Bath towels $5.00

Hand towels $3.00

Wash cloths $2.00

Bed linens $15.00

 

These charges do not include a 15% gratuity and a $2.00 service fee. It is getting more and more expensive to go green and I am not sure how I feel about this new policy. Toilet tissues are one thing but the towel and linen charges are another.

Every Princess Maitre 'D has been issued a set of brass ones, along with strict orders... NOONE EVER AGAIN ... is permitted in an MDR for dinner wearing shorts and T-Shirts. Not even the father of the bride that allowed his wedding guests to sit in church in shorts and t-shirts.

 

And Platinum and Elites have an additional benefit added.... a complimentary set of Brass Knuckles they may use on anyone sitting at their table whom they don't feel is dressed appropriately.

 

Ruby members instead will enjoy a complimentary copy of "A Book of Insults... for the Inappropriately Dressed."

And yes, for all rolls in excess of the one complimentary roll you are permitted to take on board. And only if you use it in your stateroom; the fee applies if used in any of the public facilities.
