tiggerkaj Posted May 23, 2014 #1 Share Posted May 23, 2014 I was considering getting a Cove balcony, maybe an inside room on the Breeze and I'm curious if anyone has previously sailed on deck 2 and can give me their input please. I typically always plan my stateroom where it is not below any public spaces due to being a light sleeper. Did you hear a lot of noises and what stateroom were you in? If we choose the Cove balcony is there a spot better than others? We considered a regular balcony as well but I really do not like how deck 5 jets out, etc. Not sure if we would be affected by this that much the higher we go. We have never sailed on Breeze before so I've been trying to read all the reviews, study pictures, etc. Thanks for any input you can give. :D

Our cabin was 2294. It is under the dining room. I only heard noise a couple of times during dinnertime and it was very light. The dining room is carpeted so it helps keep down the sound. That dining room was used for the Brunch and I never heard anything then. I am also a light sleeper and I thought it was a great room and I liked the location. Not too far from the front elevators but far enough away not to hear the dings. You don't want to be between the middle and aft elevators because those cabins are under the galley. Some of those can be noisy, but not all of them. Sharon
BettyCruiser Posted May 23, 2014 #3 Share Posted May 23, 2014 We had a cove that was right next to the forward elevators. I never heard anything from above, but could sometimes hear the elevator bells. So I would suggest looking a little ways up or down the hall from the elevators. retiring soon Posted May 23, 2014 #4 Share Posted May 23, 2014 HI all! I just had cove 2349 on the May 4 Breeze sailing. I've also had 2217 on the Dream, a 2 port hole cabin. I like deck 2 & not far from the elevators. I didn't hear any noise or feel any movement in either of them. I would do a cove again without question as I enjoyed it more than a regular balcony (not a sun worshipper). It's also bigger than the usual balcony & has a ledge for your drink/feet.;) ~ Jo ~ :)
p_mori7 Posted May 23, 2014 #5 Share Posted May 23, 2014 Yes, #2325 on Breeze. Under the dining room. Sometime some noise when they moved tables & chairs for vacuuming. Other than that NOTHING...except the neighboring cabin who would let the balcony door SLAM SHUT every freaking time ! What a PITA ! :D
PhoenixDawgCruising Posted May 24, 2014 #6 Share Posted May 24, 2014 Just booked 2366. There were some available more forward but I like to be midship or aft. Will this cabin be ok as far as noise?? Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Sent from my iPhone using Forums All I can tell you is that cabin in under the galley. Not all cabins under the galley have noise but some of them do. They work in the galley at all hours of the day. This is where they prepare all the meals (breakfast, lunch, brunch, and dinner) and where all the clean up is (think large dishwashers running above you). Some people say they have heard nothing in their cabin under the galley and others who complain that they have a lot of noise for several hours in the middle of the night. So you are taking a chance unless someone posts that they had cabin 2366 and there was no noise. We needed a cabin for three that is why we choose 2294 because there wasn't much choice that wasn't under the galley. Sharon

bubbakirk43 Posted May 24, 2014 #12 Share Posted May 24, 2014 Yw,a little tip for getting to the back of the ship from your cabin on deck two ,instead of going up the elevator closest to your cabin then having to walk through all the other areas ,just walk to the back elevators take elevator up to wherever you are going .It is still a walk ,but if you want to avoid the shops ,casino ,etc..then this is a great alternative. renza Posted May 24, 2014 #15 Share Posted May 24, 2014 We are in a cove balcony for the third time June 7th. We love them. So close to the water and more private I would not have a different balcony on the dream class ships. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
jonbgd Posted May 24, 2014 #16 Share Posted May 24, 2014 Im glad this thread was started as we are researching to cruise on the Breeze next year. We want a cove balcony. Now if my buddy can talk his wife into sailing on Carnival
tiggerkaj Posted May 24, 2014 Author #17 Share Posted May 24, 2014 WOW! Thanks for all the input about my concerns!!! I am taking notes and checking to see what staterooms are available. I'm a little late in booking (cruise less than a month) so I'm hoping some of the rooms mentioned are still available. FYI for those that are light sleepers like myself, I bring a very small fan with me on cruises now so I have that noise going on to help with that. Thanks again ;)
tiggerkaj Posted May 24, 2014 Author #18 Share Posted May 24, 2014 I'm thinking all they have left are Cove balcony's under the galley. :( Some pictures I've seen look great that close to the water and I'm sure my son would have loved it. Oh well, I'll keep checking in case someone upgrades or something. Thanks again.
mikenhe Posted May 25, 2014 #19 Share Posted May 25, 2014 I've stayed in 2275 at the front. its under guest services and I didn't hear a thing. as someone mentioned you can use deck 2 to get to the right set of stairs / elevators you want - very handy for getting to the dining room without using the all public areas. the front has 2 bans of three elevators plus the atrium ones - never so crowded that you can't use these to get up to the lido deck very quickly. I would book this cabin again next time on the breeze.
