marshhawk Posted July 13, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 13, 2014 Good Lord knows why I am awake this morning at 5:30, but He may be the only one. If you were on a ship at this time, what would you be doing? I'd be getting some coffee on te lido deck and waiting for the sun to rise.
dogsx3 Posted July 13, 2014 #2 Share Posted July 13, 2014 Hit the gym then grab some coffee on the lido deck. I like being up that early, the lido is so quiet.

shellden Posted July 13, 2014 #5 Share Posted July 13, 2014 I tend to be an early riser, we usually have an inside cabin, so getting up throwing on the first thing I can find and heading out to a quiet ship is quite enjoyable. I may stroll the track, get a coffee, find a chair and daydream watching the ocean. Great way to start the day.. if your up anyway.
golfadj Posted July 13, 2014 #6 Share Posted July 13, 2014 Would be watching the sun come up. Have met some interesting people over the years doing the same thing. After that head to lido for cup of coffee and a book.

SMSACE6 Posted July 13, 2014 #8 Share Posted July 13, 2014 Being awake at that hour is quite normal for me, so when I cruise, I start the week off the same way, waking early, but as the week goes on, manage to sleep a little later....anyway, I would go get some coffee on lido deck and then go watch the sun come up.:)
Seago2 Posted July 13, 2014 #9 Share Posted July 13, 2014 Mainlining cruise ship coffee (need double), pacing the deck, wondering why everyone is sleeping so late. It would probably help if I didn't go to bed at 9pm every night but.....:)
Rare nydney1 Posted July 13, 2014 #10 Share Posted July 13, 2014 I like to walk the ship and shoot pictures of the different areas without any people. It is like having the entire ship to myself.
golfadj Posted July 13, 2014 #11 Share Posted July 13, 2014 Always nice when we cruise with people who are also early risers. DW will sleep till 10 each day if I dont wake her.
pe4all Posted July 13, 2014 #12 Share Posted July 13, 2014 Gym sometimes opens earlier than 6- if so, I am there. Then I go sit on deck and read my kindle, having a light breakfast. When the rest of my family gets up, I have a second light breakfast with them! (Hence the gym every a.m.!)
SASA13 Posted July 13, 2014 #13 Share Posted July 13, 2014 Camera in one hand, coffee in the other, and I walk the ship...all outside decks, enjoying the peace and quiet.
CJinFLA00 Posted July 13, 2014 #14 Share Posted July 13, 2014 I'm usually up that early as well. I always hit the walking track and watch the sunrise. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

RWolver672 Posted July 13, 2014 #16 Share Posted July 13, 2014 (edited) Get in the shower, then head down to the Lido deck for coffee. If brother isn't down there yet, I usually go to the bow of the ship for a while just because it's so peaceful up there. Then I grab a coffee to take back the cabin for DW and then I head back to the Lido Deck for another coffee and join brother. We sit there BS-ing until wives get up, then have breakfast. ConshyCrock Posted July 13, 2014 #17 Share Posted July 13, 2014 I agree with everyone else- grab a coffee, watch the ocean or coming into port. Being up that early while the ship is quiet is one of the best parts of the cruise IMO Sent from my iPhone using Forums

If you were on a ship at this time, what would you be doing? I'd be getting some coffee on te lido deck and waiting for the sun to rise. That is exactly what I want to do every morning - coffee and a sunrise. There is no better way to start the day than watching the sun just start to peak above the water line. Then, I try to see each sunset each evening. Some people may disagree with me, but I am a morning person and I love that time of the day.
srjones1 Posted July 13, 2014 #19 Share Posted July 13, 2014 In the not so distant past I would have only been in bed about an hour or so at 0530. These days its definitely coffee and quiet time.

Being up that early while the ship is quiet is one of the best parts of the cruise IMO Sent from my iPhone using Forums I'm usually up before the DW; throw on some clothes and head for the coffee (on Carnival and Celebrity lido deck, International Cafe on Princess) with my lap top; read emails and latest news while drinking coffee and people watching. Give DW some time to wake up then bring her some coffee to start off her day.
seeing this world Posted July 13, 2014 #22 Share Posted July 13, 2014 (edited) I would get up go to our balcony enjoy the sun rise and have a smoke. Edited July 13, 2014 by seeing this world
tiercel Posted July 13, 2014 #23 Share Posted July 13, 2014 I have always been an early riser, and usually by 5:45 AM coffee service for three has arrived and I am out on the balcony enjoying my coffee. My DW usually sleeps until the arrival of the coffee, and then joins me.
winddawn Posted July 13, 2014 #24 Share Posted July 13, 2014 Waiting for the casino to open Me too, bigcraig. I'd be sipping some room service coffee on the balcony and then head to the casino. Early mornings on sea days are the best time to play. You have a choice of machines and there's no cigarette smoke that time of day.
snc_cam Posted July 13, 2014 #25 Share Posted July 13, 2014 I try to catch every sunrise (and sunset) on the cruise. So, I get up, walk through the buffet area getting a danish or muffin and a glass of juice. Then it is a 2-3 mile walk around deck 10 (above the Lido) waiting for the sunrise and capturing the beauty with my camera.
