CarolRoy Posted August 17, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 17, 2014 Thinking about doing a B2B cruise from Miami. Is this doable? Disembarking Carnival Conquest and embarking on Carnival Breeze on the same day? Can we walk from one ship to the other ship?

hirent Posted August 17, 2014 #5 Share Posted August 17, 2014 (edited) My guess is, the OP's asking whether they can bypass customs, immigration etc. AFAIK, people who do B2B on the same ship are escorted personally by a Carnival rep to the port and then brought back in. They do have to come inside the terminal though; basically complete the disembarking procedure. For you to change ships, you will have to go through the usual procedures for disembarking and then embarking on the next leg. Check with Carnival though, see if they have any separate rules and/or procedures. Edited August 17, 2014 by hirent

Carnival has no saying in this. It's the Homeland Security rule.
Tennessee Rose Posted August 17, 2014 #7 Share Posted August 17, 2014 If you are able to walk/get around easily, you should have no problem doing this. Especially if you have easily moveable luggage on wheels. The ships most likely will be docked bow to stern. You can probably check the POM webcam to get an idea how far apart they are. Look at it early morning on the day of week they are there at the same time. If you have difficulty walking, you can always catch one of the numerous cabs there to take you over. It couldn't cost too much; it would only be maybe 100 yards or so??

Carnival has no saying in this. It's the Homeland Security rule. What I meant was, maybe Carnival might allow them to disembark first and then get on the next ship first; earlier than everybody else. Not special rules to avoid customs & immigration. As I mentioned in my post, even people doing a B2B on the same ship have to get off and complete the procedure. However, Carnival has a rep with the whole group of people (who are in a B2B) and takes them off the ship personally and then brings them back on before anyone else. This of course would not be possible for OP since this would be a B2B on a different ship. Maybe Carnival would transfer their luggage to the next ship, akin to airlines, thus helping them out. Who knows, it never hurts to ask. Edited August 17, 2014 by hirent
OCruisers Posted August 17, 2014 #9 Share Posted August 17, 2014 Sure, no problem. Disembark Conquest like you normally would. Take a taxi to Breeze and go through the normal embarkation process to get on the ship. :) LuLu
snc_cam Posted August 17, 2014 #10 Share Posted August 17, 2014 I am interested in seeing the answer to this too since I may do it in the near future. But I am thinking that since it is two different ships, you would disembark as normal and then wait to board the second one with the rest of the crowd. hirent Posted August 17, 2014 #11 Share Posted August 17, 2014 (edited) Here is your answer: this is a fantastic review by MikeyA53 of their B2B on the Liberty & Breeze. Start reading from Post 624, it seems they had to go through the normal procedures as everyone else. They did have Platinum status so after the customs wait time, they could embark quickly. No special treatment. Edited August 17, 2014 by hirent
snc_cam Posted August 17, 2014 #12 Share Posted August 17, 2014 makes sense. After the current cruises booked, am only 2 away from Platinum... But if I did a B2B, the second would be platinum :)... definitely good thoughts.

And received the Pt benefits for the second leg.
dulcimergirl Posted August 17, 2014 #14 Share Posted August 17, 2014 Sure you can do it, but its not a B2B unless your on the same ship for both legs. FYI. Sounds like fun.

Budget Queen Posted August 17, 2014 #17 Share Posted August 17, 2014 I have actually done this, so giving first hand information. In March, I got off the Conquest, and walked to the Glory. I did have a wait until the porters were there for my priority tags, You would then board the ship like everyone else, depending on your status. We do self-disembark with our own luggage. We only take carry-ons with wheels. Glad to hear we can exit one Carnival ship's terminal and walk over to the next Carnival ship's terminal. Yes, we know we have to go through customs and security.

You would have to disembark one ship, go to next ship, and embark when it's your turn. I doubt very much if Carnival staff would help you with this. My husband wheeled us over and we paid a porter to take our luggage . . . He got a generous tip!!!
