Totally agree, and Capt Scala is a very funny man, great sense of humor. Enjoy!!!

He really is Riclop,,very personable and very approachable as well. We hope to see him again either at the officer's party or in LeMuse having dinner. Hopefully we'll get a chance to talk to him again!!!:)

I hope you have a wonderful time on the Divina. We were on the May 3 sailing and will be returning (with kids and grandkids) on October 18. I hope I haven't waited until too late to ask a couple of questions...

It was very hot, with very little shade on the private island in May, so I reserved a clamshell for our October sailing. The confirmation just says "clamshell". Do you know (or could you please find out) how that process works? Will there be a particular clamshell reserved for us, or are they assigned/chosen upon arrival? And are they in more than one location, or just at the area close to the tenders?

Also, can you please let me know if Sonya and Rick (Ameritalian Duo) are still on the ship? I am almost afraid to ask, for fear that they won't be.

Lucky you to be sailing tomorrow - wish it was our turn already :D

Hi Maureen,

I just called my cc company to let them know I would be out of the country (the dates and locations) just to be sure they didn't deny usage, as we recently had someone try to "steal" our cc info and had to get new cards. With fraud being such a problem of late, I wanted to make sure they knew it was me trying to use it in a different country. Not sure if that's what you were asking about but thought I'd chime in :D

Michelle

P.S. I'll try not to eat all the NUTELLA ;)

Hi Michelle, I'd heard of that, but, this seems to be something differeny, I can't copy and paste it.

 You'd better not eat all my Nutella!

Mike, Have a great cruise!

Thank You So Very Much ZoeyVictoria!!! We were on Divina in May as well,,only for a 3 day sailing to the Bahamas though:(.

We have a cabana reserved at GSC, but I will check on the clamshells for you. I know the cabanas are assigned in the order the reservations were made,I would hope that since there are so many more clamshells, that this wouldn't be the case for them. :)

Mike wishing you a great cruise and safe travels with the storm out there..........we've sailed a few times with tropical storms and hurricanes out there..so no worries...........I just hope you have great weather and get to GSC......those tender ports are so picky on letting people on them......but I'll tell you one time we went to Cococay and the water was so crazy choppy that the tender was listing crazily and I kept saying we are going to go over, and they felt this was "safe"....so when they don't think it is.........trust me....it must be terrible....and anyway after a storm passes through the weather is usually gorgeous because it sucks all the bad weather into the system....and it's blown away.............have a blast, can't wait to see the pics.............

We have always left cash on our previous cruises for the staff that have dealt with us but also given them a gift and up to now we have found them to be appreciative at getting gifts from Scotland.

Judith

That they show appreciation for gifts that will sadly end up in the trash is one MORE example of their kindness and professionalism.

I'm not being mean, as I know you intend to be kind. But these folks have weight restrictions on their luggage when they return home, as we all do. They earn little for the hard work they perform seven days a week. They don't need, want or keep the little knick knacks. Be respectful and kind and give them the cash that you were going to spend on gifts.

Thanks So Very Much Aussie!!! The storm appears to be taking aim at the Bahamas between today and tomorrow, so we'll see how this affects our route between Miami and our first POC, St. Maartin. How does the saying go?? Hang on and enjoy the ride??,,we intend to do just that!! As long as we're on Divina, how we get there or when we get there or if we get there is irrelevant to us. Divina is our destination,,the ports of call are just a bonus!!

Wishing you "Bon Voyage". Have a wonderful trip.

Looking forward to reading about your experiences in the Yacht Club - especially the dining ones. I'll be in YC on Preziosa this time next week :) and need a few tasters of things to come to whet the appetite LOL

Hoping to be onboard by noon,,hopefully!!;)

With a personal escort ie Butler you should have no problem.

Hope fate is kind to you and that the storm won't have an impact on your trip.

At least the ship can outrun these things - I was on Carnival in the Gulf of Mexico from New Orleans returning to Tampa during a hurricane. We ended up with 2 extra nights onboard as we couldn't access the port! We also enjoyed the most fantastic weather as we stayed well clear of the storm LOL

Being in the Yacht Club, as you say, is a destination in itself. Just don't give the butlers TOO hard a time - just a little to keep them on their toes :D

Good Morning. Prayers for smooth seas and good weather. Don't forget to watch for that special white tent for YC as you pull up to the pier!! Don't let the porters bully you into giving them your bags. They tried that the last time we were there. Said NO! we are in YC and took our bags to the tent. Looking forward to your reviews and pictures. Enjoy!!! :)
