Concierge vs veranda?

This is our second cruise on Celebrity and we have booked a veranda room as we didn't see the need for the canapes, umbrella, etc. that we had on the first through Concierge. But I'm having second thoughts because I thought the rooms in both were the same size and I see they are not. Can someone do a room size comparison for me? Do you feel the space feels that much smaller in the veranda? Thanks!

Lol, just one more reason to book Concierge in my opinion.

Some say the perks are perceived...

But to me the perceived here is an actual physical thing. And that counts for something, namely my comfort and quality of my vacation.

Unless there is an OUTSTANDING difference in price, we are not going to book below Concierge.

And even then... Pricing goes up & down so much when you book far in advance... That it isn't uncommon to see a better class cabin be surpassed in price by a lesser one just based on Customer demand for a particular category. Often see for example Aqua priced lower than Concierege etc... So pays to watch pricing / trends

Cheers!

What ship are you talking about? On the S-class ships, the cabins are the same size in both classes. On the M-class ships, the concierge class cabins are larger than the regular veranda cabins.

(There are in-class differences in balcony sizes, but's that's a different issue.)

We book standard verandas and we book concierge category also. For us it depends on price difference. WE book CC cat if the price/day/person is around $10. I will go a little higher, but not much. It is a VALUE proposition. Some like the flowers, canapés, etc. Some like the extra points for Captain's Club status.

I do not stay in my cabin for anything other than sleeping/changing and waiting on DW. The balconies are no different unless you get an aft CC cabin on an M class ship. Also, M class ships have larger CC cabins than the standard cabin. Not sure there is any difference on S class ships. Even if there is, it is not a huge difference, IMHO. For sure it is not worth $140 plus. I would rather donate that to the cruise line in the casino.

We have sailed mostly in CC, but our last cruise was in a standard veranda and had a great 2 week cruise on Constellation!

Could you elaborate on the balcony sizes for concierge class cabins on M ships. When you say aft, I assume you mean along the back of the ship. But from the diagrams, it appears that some of the C3 balconies starboard side aft look larger than the port side balconies. Can anyone say whether this is true? I have a CC guarantee on Connie and was curious. It has not been assigned yet but there are alot of cabins available.

We have had all the different types of aft facing on the M Class ships. The port side balconies are the same size as the starboard side ones on the same deck that is. These balconies are huge and in our opinion is the only reason to book a concierge class cabin.

Now THE REALLY GREAT CABINS on the M Class ships are the corner FV cabins. They have very large cabin spaces plus they have one of the biggest balconies anywhere on the ship with the exception of the Penthouse Suites. We had a corner FV on the Connie two or three years ago. These corner FV's on the M Class ships are some of the most highly sought after cabins in the Celebrity fleet. If you ever get the chance book the corner FV in a heartbeat. It won't be available for long.

I have a picture taken during the cabin crawl we did on that cruise. The picture is out on the balcony where we had 20-30 people and they occupied only 25% of the balcony and weren't crowded.

On S class, the rooms are all the same size til you get to FVs and suites.

On M class, the CC rooms are 15% larger, from about 175 sq. ft. to about 193 sq. ft. That extra room is in the 'lounge' area where the loveseat/desk are.

IF the difference wasn't too much, I would pay for CC on M class, but not on S class--not worth it to me (unless it was a very minimal difference and that was the only way I could get a room in my preferred location.)

CC cabins have the footrests (is this the correct word?) on the balcony. We would not want to miss those.

On S class they also have real size bath towels, not skimpy ones, fluffier bathrobes and better showers.

I guess it depends on how much you're willing to pay for those footstools. In some cases, you may be paying as much for one cruise as the footstool cost the cruiseline.

And actually, the standard S class towels are fine, no complaints--and I'm a complainer. . .

Thanks so much for all of the responses. When we first booked, there was a considerable difference in the price so we went with the veranda. Sailing on Constellation. Learned my lesson on researching cabin size! But can't wait regardless:)

On the M class ships in the CC category there are also 4 cabins on deck 6 with either added amenities like those in 6135/36 with their larger balconies and interiors to mirror those of the adjoining suites or 6143/6144 with their larger cabin and veranda. The deck 6 cabins are in a particularly quiet part of the ship too - another plus.
