Just How often do NCL ships miss GSC?

No one said it was the end of the world. I doubt Disney's record is anywhere near 50% missed. It just seems unfair that they advertise a private island as a perk and a port stop ( especially on a very weak itinerary) and they miss it almost as much as they hit it. Doesn't seem quite fair. Feels sort of like false advertising.

And before this thread, I didn't think the 50% comment could!possibly be true but after seeing the responses! it sure feels like the 50% comment is just about accurate.

We are 50% for GSC out of two tries - one made it on Spirit in May of 2007 missed as said on BA in March. So in that context and as others have posted, someone saying 50% would be correct for them but not for NCL as a whole.

DCL very rarely misses their island but they have a dock and they lengthened it for the new ships. We are 5 for 5 at Castaway Cay and it is a great private island. We were there 6 days ago and I could spend the whole trip there.

We made 2 out of 3. Of course NCL wants you to get over there - they want you to spend money on their drinks, not off the ship at Nassau. They just spent a ton of money making improvements, adding eating areas, bathrooms, cabanas... They also added a safer docking area, to increase the odds of being able to tender.

Sure, we were disappointed that we missed GSC on our last cruise (especially since I reserved a large cabana, for $250, a low price since I booked it when it was first built).

I think all cruise lines are in the same boat (except DCL).

The single time that I booked this itinerary, we did stop at GSC. The weather was perfect. We rented a clamshell, and enjoyed the beach.

Since GSC is a tender port, decisions are made according to weather and sea conditions. I certainly would not want to risk being tendered in rough seas.
