StarSong2001 Posted October 23, 2014 #27 Share Posted October 23, 2014 Disaster? Not really. Now this would be a disaster: hahahahaha!! I do hope the OP is enjoying the humor in this now the way we are. I'm thinking BIABBTKAM would be a cool thing to have on a t-shirt for a sail away group - or even this picture. Sherri914 Posted October 23, 2014 #28 Share Posted October 23, 2014 (edited) I do love it when I find little gems of knowledge like why bananas and apples don't play well together in the fruit bowl. This is so great. I can't wait to find a way to work this into the water cooler conversation today. This will be my goal for the afternoon. And THIS is why I love my Cruise Critic friends. (Well, this and counting how many times people misspell dining as "dinning". Sorry, I just couldn't resist.:D) Edited October 23, 2014 by Sherri914
joepeka Posted October 23, 2014 #29 Share Posted October 23, 2014 My Oasis reservation for next October magically changed from traditional dining to dynamic dining. There is no longer a choice.I'm looking forward to the change. Our daughter and her husbands booking on Oasis next spring also is showing Dynamic Dining now (versus the Early they booked) and like someone mentioned earlier, they are wondering if reservations would be advisable (even for the no-fee restaurants). We've used MTD before with reservations and it worked great for us so if DD with reservations is essentially the same thing, then cool.
TerpsBball Posted October 23, 2014 #30 Share Posted October 23, 2014 Off-topic, but a great way to keep bananas from ripening too quickly is to: 1. Separate and lay flat (so they are not on top of each other) 2. Wrap the top stems in plastic wrap #2 sounds crazy, but it really works. You can keep them MUCH longer before they turn brown. My wife picked this up on line somewhere.

I think someone should lodge a formal complaint about BIABBTKAM and then post the response here.
American Bear Posted October 23, 2014 #32 Share Posted October 23, 2014 While I would agree that the Windjammer buffet is not "the best" on Oasis or Allure, was "bananas in a bowl by the ketchup and mayo" REALLY a disaster? RCL buffet fleet wide needs updating! Close too early in evening! Currently the worst buffets (quality and quantity) compared to other cruise lines! Is everything bad no, but there is a lot of room for improvement! American Bear Posted October 23, 2014 #33 Share Posted October 23, 2014 I just read an email from C&A, regarding changes to Oasis and Allure. If I'm understanding it correctly, starting in March 2015, they are eliminating the main dining rooms on these ships. Everything will be freestyle. I'm not a fan of freestyle, and liked the option of choice. I can deal if it's just on the Oasis Class ships, but is this going to become the norm on all the ships? Please NOT. As a casino club member, and betting man, I'd bet 'yes' it will be rolled out fleet wide eventually:eek:!

It's a fairly well-known meme (pronounced meem, not me-me http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/meme?s=t) that goes around the internet called "First World Problems" and it's a great one. hellsop Posted October 23, 2014 #42 Share Posted October 23, 2014 Disaster? Not really. Now this would be a disaster: Hmm... Banana on a sweet long-roll with apricot and strawberry spread, and a kiwi-fruit relish, and you're talking about my kind of dessert...

If you right click on that shot and click on Properties, it's a photobucket shot so Big_G could have custom made this for the shot as his photobucket main page has many cruise albums listed that are in his signature. :p http://s1375.photobucket.com/user/dogdiesel/library/?sort=3&page=1 Edited October 24, 2014 by robtulipe

cindivan Posted October 29, 2014 #47 Share Posted October 29, 2014 Has anyone been on any other sailings that were disastrous due to bananas being placed in bowls by the ketchup and mayo? No, but my dad once picked up a decorative bread roll and nearly broke his front tooth trying to bite into the shellacked bun. Those should have segregated the buns, not the bananas! ILuvCruisin' Posted October 29, 2014 #48 Share Posted October 29, 2014 We were on the Oasis last April, and the Allure last week. Loved the Oaais, not the Allure. There was no service in the Windjammer buffet, was totally disorganized. Bananas in a bowl by the ketchup and mayo, not with the other fruit. It was a disaster. I hope they do a better job in their new endeavor. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk OMG.com. RCCL should be ashamed of themselves. I refuse to allow "them" to ruin a cruise for me not to mention how those poor bananas must feel! I plan to boycott the Windjammer on my next cruise if they do this. Who's with me?
