ladymadeline Posted November 25, 2014 #1 Share Posted November 25, 2014 We did an E. Caribbean cruise on Regent a few years ago and thought it felt like all the ports were "touristy". What other options would you recommend for a mid February cruise? (Our anniversary is Feb 14th 😘) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
sail7seas Posted November 26, 2014 #2 Share Posted November 26, 2014 A good deal of the Caribbean is tourist dependent. If that is not what you care for you may wish to find warm weather elsewhere. We found St. Bart's to be a little less touristy but frankly bright sun, warm temps, beautiful blue water, soft sand beaches..... I really don't care if they are pushing the pina coladas. When it is cold here in Boston, it all sounds good to me. :)
paul929207 Posted November 26, 2014 #3 Share Posted November 26, 2014 Go around South America. There is not nearly the developed tourist industry

Rare Keith1010 Posted November 26, 2014 #6 Share Posted November 26, 2014 I would look at Hawaii or South America or Australia or New Zealand or Asia. I realize that distance and length of cruise could be an issue but these are all nice places to visit in February. Keith
Floridiana Posted November 26, 2014 #7 Share Posted November 26, 2014 You have to go beyond the shopping areas in many Caribbean ports. You can go hiking in the forest, not many tourists there. You could fly to the islands where cruise ships don't stop. Montserrat, Saba, the Grenadines
Rare Essiesmom Posted November 26, 2014 #8 Share Posted November 26, 2014 Suggest you look beyond the mainlin cruise lines, to smaller options like Windstar and Star Clippers. EM
