philip_eunice1 Posted December 4, 2014 #27 Share Posted December 4, 2014 Shut, my wife burned through that much in 5 hours in the casino on one of our cruises. I was miffed, and asked what was she thinking? She said she had a good time! 5 hours did she get a slow start Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
PCWalton1 Posted December 4, 2014 #28 Share Posted December 4, 2014 Good to know, I haven't had OBC from RCL before. I will on an upcoming cruise, so this is a helpful tip. I guess we will be using what we can and then cashing out at the casino. We have OBC from RCL on our upcoming cruise and on the cruise docs there is this statement right below the OBC. Looks like the casino is out. Please note, this onboard credit is subject to ship staff validation and cannot be used in the casino, nor can it be converted to cash. It must be used by the end of the cruise or surrendered

We also have OBC from RCL and I do not see it listed anywhere in the cruise ticket. It is only on the booking invoice midway down the page and does not say anything about not being able to use it in the casino Edited December 4, 2014 by molly361

d4nigirl Posted December 4, 2014 #31 Share Posted December 4, 2014 Dining and other souvenirs. On our honeymoon in 2013 we had more OBC than we thought so we ended the cruise with about $100 left in our account, they credited my CC back
Coralc Posted December 5, 2014 #32 Share Posted December 5, 2014 $1,000 OBC for 2 people during the recent promo = drink packages, specialty dining, and I think I am going to buy a watch, if they have a good price on one that I like. :D:):D
cb at sea Posted December 5, 2014 #33 Share Posted December 5, 2014 (edited) For 4 people, on a 7 night cruises, about $450 will be the tips.....so that's more than 1/2.... It's simply a credit against any charges....so whatever you spend, the 1st $800 is paid for! Edited December 5, 2014 by cb at sea
scottrn7 Posted December 5, 2014 #34 Share Posted December 5, 2014 As it was explained to me was, "I was up, then down, up then down..." She doesn't know how to walk away after getting ahead, it is a must feed the machine thing. I think it makes her salivate like Pavlov's Dog to hear the sounds. :p 5 hours did she get a slow start Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
karmacats Posted December 5, 2014 #35 Share Posted December 5, 2014 If you're interested in such things, the behind the scenes tour is $150 per person and excellent. I believe there is a minimum age so the kids might have to hang in the kids club if you do it. DH and I did it on Allure and it was totally worth the $300 - would have been even better if paid for with OBC! :) (I am not one to spend $$$ onboard, and I enjoyed it so much, we did it again on Liberty, and have it scheduled for Quantum. So, it's good!)
zombiehunter Posted December 8, 2014 #36 Share Posted December 8, 2014 That would pay for another cruise.;) That's actually a really good point. Can you use it at the pre-booking thing and put it towards another cruise?

I would give the same advice. When you are talking about one person blowing through $800, I'd have money left over to take home, but a family of four? Tips and excursions would easily use the entire amount. I'd book an excursion that would have been too expensive without the OBC. Considering that many of the excursions are more than $100 per person and tips for the week are almost that much, you aren't going to have to stretch your imagination to spend it. Enjoy. AlluraUni Posted December 9, 2014 #38 Share Posted December 9, 2014 We used unexpected OBC (returned taxes + "please don't complain" money for weather-caused itinery change) to buy a new camera. DH hasn't stopped playing with it since we came back.
camofwilliamsburg Posted December 9, 2014 #39 Share Posted December 9, 2014 Let it pay for tips and then cash out and use that money for a deposit on your next cruise!
PSU Posted December 9, 2014 #40 Share Posted December 9, 2014 No you cannot. You have to use a credit card. That's actually a really good point. Can you use it at the pre-booking thing and put it towards another cruise?
