I consider this list with the names as a cheat sheet for me. My young daughter has a life threatening allergy and within the first 30-60 minutes of boarding I am meeting pretty much everyone on these lists with the exception of the Cruise Director and Captain. Having their names ahead of time written down lets me feel more comfortable during out meeting that I can quickly confirm their names and add their handy phone numbers to my list for later reference. It saves the how do you spell your name or the here's my card which I then desperately try to keep from getting lost in the hustle of just boarding, meeting everyone and trying to get lunch.

We have a similar problem, one that first showed up on our first NCL cruise (leading to an ambulance being called to the ship while we were at port - the timing was very lucky, although the medical crew did everything "just right", thank goodness, so we would have been "okay" even if at sea, although we didn't know that as it all started unfolding).

 

For our next cruise on the Pearl (different ship! and after MANY consults with allergists, and special extra medicines brought along just in case), we worked with the Access Desk (special needs).

 

We found that Gladys Torio (Executive Housekeeper on the Pearl) went above and beyond our expectations in making sure our suite was prepped properly - as arranged in advance, obviously - and her oversight was clear throughout the entire trip.

And we had NO hint of allergy problems, which we think helped identify what must have been the source of the problem on the other ship.

 

The "trick" in the future is to find out if her strategies (including some extra steps above and beyond what was arranged with Access Desk) can be arranged in advance on other ships with other Executive Housekeepers.

 

We were very impressed and grateful.

I was on the Jewel in Feb. 2014 and Ignatio Garcias was the HD and Messiah Ritzinger was the B&F Director. I don't see either of them listed on any of the ships. Does anybody know what happened to them?

 

I was really hoping they would be on the Jewel when I'm on her again the end of this month.

 

Ignacio took sometime off, he got married!! I heard he is going back on a ship within a month or so...... can't remember which one. Great guy!
