mickeysgal Posted January 9, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 9, 2015 Looking at a cruise to the Baltics on Celebrity - did you have a balcony cabin or is it too cold to use? Was it a scenic sailing? Cost is pretty high at this time - not sure if that is normal for the Baltics or because it is during the summer apex (late June).
CruiserBruce Posted January 9, 2015 #2 Share Posted January 9, 2015 When we were in the Baltics/Norway in July 2013, it was record or near record hot temps, so, no, it wasn't too cold to use a balcony. In fact the opposite. No way to predict what the weather will be for your cruise.
OzCanuck Posted January 9, 2015 #3 Share Posted January 9, 2015 We had a balcony cabin in early June last year. We used the balcony ALL THE TIME. Though it did pour rain in Finland - the rest of the time it was nice! Maybe a bit chilly, but that's ok - just put on a sweater.
aquilegia Posted January 9, 2015 #4 Share Posted January 9, 2015 I did a Baltics cruise a few years ago in June and the temperature was in the 80s for a lot of the time. On your other point, I think Baltic cruises tend to be expensive anyway, but well worth it.
wally_bushy Posted January 9, 2015 #5 Share Posted January 9, 2015 We cruised the Baltic August 2012 and used the balcony every day of our 14 night cruise If you can afford it, go for it as we still recall some of the beautiful sunsets around 9:30 -10:00 at night. Being from Queensland, Australia this is novel for us. The weather was OK and we also enjoyed calm waters. We will be doing it again
Ashland Posted January 9, 2015 #6 Share Posted January 9, 2015 We had a corner aft JS balcony on RCI Jewel (#1100)...just amazing views...wouldn't have traded that location & cabin for anything...well worth the $$'s to us for this wonderful 12 night itinerary !!!! sippican Posted January 10, 2015 #7 Share Posted January 10, 2015 (edited) No telling what the weather will be like. We used our baclony quite a lot in the Baltics; there were some lovely sail-ins and sail-outs. If the weather is beautiful, and you don't have a balcony, will you feel regret?
