I Live for Vacation Posted January 12, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 12, 2015 We just booked a 4-night cruise on Enchantment of the Seas. We have sailed on Royal Caribbean several times, but never over a holiday. Sail-away day is New Year's Eve! Can anyone tell me what to expect as far as celebrations, etc.
OTownNick Posted January 12, 2015 #2 Share Posted January 12, 2015 (edited) I'm about to book this same exact cruise! I'll see you on the roll call in a few weeks. I hear they have a lot of different music types setup on different lounges but the main difference is they have a NYE gala in the Centrum with a band and free champagne. Party is probl 11:30-12:30 then other parties elsewhere go pretty late-Viking Crown Lounge would be the main after party. paradise4me Posted January 12, 2015 #3 Share Posted January 12, 2015 I was on that cruise. We pulled out of Nassau and dropped anchor a mile out and watched the fireworks from Atlantis and all of Nassau. They had a huge deck party with live band. The centrum had an orchestra balloon drop and the Viking lounge had a party. It was totally awesome and champagne was flowing.

Does everyone dress up for this in Nassau?
Ourusualbeach Posted October 17, 2017 #5 Share Posted October 17, 2017 We will be getting on as you are disembarking. Just for grins I checked the prices...WOW, I can't believe what they are asking. The 7 day Oasis NYE cruise in a balcony is cheaper.
Rare lazydayz Posted October 18, 2017 #6 Share Posted October 18, 2017 We are on this cruise as well. We do not plan to dress up for NYE. Got a great rate from casino six weeks ago. Don't think I will be offered an upgrade on this one after seeing the current prices. Ouch.

Rare island lady Posted October 18, 2017 #8 Share Posted October 18, 2017 We did Monarch many years ago for NYE, was a good time, loved the fireworks off of Nassau show, lots of people dressed up...then it got ugly. Lots of young (and some older that should know better) extremely drunk pax that made a huge mess, puking up everywhere, partying loudly all night and into the next morning. Awful...won't do it again...not worth it. Especially for the over bloated price they charge for holiday cruises. :(

Merion_Mom Posted October 18, 2017 #10 Share Posted October 18, 2017 I have been on quite a few New Year's Eve cruises and never experienced puking cruisers, although things get crowded enough that I have had champagne spilled on me because of jostling. No big deal.

As long as I am not one of them, it is all good. I bet we will have an awesome NYE cruise. Key West, Nassau and Coco Cay on a short cruise. NICE. Notonboard Posted December 15, 2017 #13 Share Posted December 15, 2017 Can you see the fireworks that Atlantis does from your Starboard midship balcony? Where do you go to watch them?
Rare lazydayz Posted December 16, 2017 #14 Share Posted December 16, 2017 Should be able to see from starboard balcony but I plan on going to a top deck and watching the fireworks from Nassau and Atlantis. BOGO!
SC_Floaters Posted December 17, 2017 #15 Share Posted December 17, 2017 We just booked a 4-night cruise on Enchantment of the Seas. We have sailed on Royal Caribbean several times, but never over a holiday. Sail-away day is New Year's Eve! Can anyone tell me what to expect as far as celebrations, etc. Sue & I have made to NYE cruises on Enchantment in 2013 & 2014. 2013 NYE we just left CoCo Cay on way to Nassau. New Years Eve Party on the ship was incredible. Two Rock Bands in the centrum, Latin group in Boleros, Piano Soloist in the Schooner and the Ships Orchestra doing big band music in the Spotlight Lounge. They had the Viking Crown closed until 12:30am for the first party of the New Year that went from 12:30am until... There was a Midnight Buffet on the pool deck and it seemed every waitstaff member brought out trays of champagne about 11:45pm.. We had such a great time we did it again in 2014. This time we were in Nassau on NYE, Left port about 10:30pm and anchored off the coast and watched all the different fireworks displays from Nassau (the biggest was from Atlantis) along with celebrations in every lounge of the ship and unlimited champagne from about 11:45pm onward. 2015 Ten nights on Serenade over Christmas & New Years, Again a great party on NYE... You can not beat a cruise for NYE... Start whenever you want, go as long as you want, plenty of entertainment choices, no drive home, just a walk or stumble to your stateroom.
