Radio, it was nice to meet you today.

We are on Quantum now and really enjoying it. Had an excellent dinner last night at Jamie's. Try the truffle pasta. It was awesome! We had a great waiter, Cosmo, he ran over to Vintages to get us a bottle of wine and then back to get us the big wine glasses. Great service and food.

Off to American Icon tonight.

Hello everyone. . . The Meet and Mingle was very nice. It was very good to see many people that I have been chatting with for months. I was happy to meet Captain Gus, and Ken Rush who were there as well. I won a prize in the raffle that no one wanted to win. . .A 2014 Presidential Table Tennis Quantum T Shirt. Oh well. . . It will fit one of my kids.

The weather was just as forecast for today. . .rain, clouds, and very windy. It should be better tomorrow as we navigated to the leeward side of the storm. We should be feeling a considerable increase in temperature, and I hope some sunny skies.

Today was a lazy day for me as I spent much of the day recovering from the previous 48 hours (very little sleep). I dozed off at the Indoor Pool, Solarium, and watched some news from my cabin. . .

Here are a few pics from today. . .there will be more this evening.

Thanks for tuning in !

Radio, my young friend is on your cruise and she posted on Facebook last night what you said about the altered sailings, canceled Port and free wi-fi, so I went on CC to see what was going on with the ship in the storm and found your review. Perfect! Hope the seas are not too rocky, I don't do that well in those conditions. If you see a lovely young lady in a wheelchair around, tell her Robin says hi!

Oh ok. Good to know. I wonder why the limitation, maybe it's too close to the terminal on the one side but can't imagine why not the other side lol. Was that for Bayonne specifically, or all ports?

North Star was awesome I enjoyed it.

They said that was the rule in all ports

So enjoying your post as I did On your previous sailing on the Quantum. Have you noticed changes in the staff? I understand that the assistant waiters are back. Are there hot tubs in the indoor pool area as well as the solarium? Thanks so much for spending time posting. Enjoy.

Hi Radio, I am still enjoying all your pictures and review but I like to ask you a faver if i may? you do not have to do it but if you have time you might enjoy doing it:eek:

I am going on the Anthem and the cabins would be the same as the Quantum and If some how you could find out for me if the balcony's in cabin 6290, 6170 and 6614 are not to obstructed and which cabin would be the best one to book? I am booked in 6614 but the balcanies look bigger in 6290 and 6170:eek:

I did come across on the Quantum with a girlfriend and I really like the ship so I want my DH Bob to see how nice the ship is so we are going in Nov on the Anthem and also going on the Independence just before the Anthem:cool:

Thanks for all the pictures and if you can take a nice one of the ship from outside where you can see the balancies that would be nice too, If not don't worry about it, I have been showing Bob all your pictures and reading some of your posts to him:cool:

I do hope to go on the same cruise as you some day as I would love to meet you, thank you again for all your reviews on this ship and all the others too;)

Carol:)

Argh . . . This post was intended for last night at 9PM, but the server was not cooperating due to connection errors. I was finally able to upload at Radio Dark 30 (4:30 AM) Lets begin at 9PM last night. . .Argh. . .

Hello everyone. I had a great dinner at Chops tonight. I have been to Chops on many cruises, but this may have been the loudest I have ever experienced. It seemed to be very full with a lot of passengers dressed for formal dining. The food was great, (Petite Filet) and I was happy to share the dinner with a few Cruise Critic members. I will have to wait to report my Dynamic Dining experience until tomorrow. I have reservations at the American Icon Grill. I had dinner there on the Pre Inaugural, and it was very good food with good service.

A note for all of the Diamond and Diamond Plus members that the Concierge and Diamond Club have been very busy and crowded. It may be easier to use the free drinks that have been loaded on your SeaPass acct. These are available at any of the bars on board.

The ship rolling has been very rough tonight. There is much pitch, but we may have seen the worst of this due to our position. The roller skating and bumper cars were cancelled because of the rough seas. Captain Gus has suggested that tomorrow we should be seeing an improvement in sea conditions and weather. The temperature will increase, and the seas should be much calmer.

Hello everyone. . .Welcome to DAY 3 of “LIVE” from Quantum of the Seas. The connection to the server is working much better this morning. Last night I was frustrated and a few 4 letter metaphors may have been heard in this cabin.

I woke up early this morning to see something that makes me happy. . . Sunny skies are in the cards for today, and I am sure that many passengers may feel the same way. The outlook of passengers and crew seem to be improved. Weather often makes a cruise memorable, but good weather helps to keep you positive. I can tell you I have a positive outlook on the next several days.

I have a Cabin Crawl scheduled for this morning, and I am looking forward to that. It will be nice to see some cabins that I haven’t seen and then I can dream about sailing in them on day. There is also a chance that North Star will open today along with Flow Rider. There will be many Robo Shows, a 3D Dreamworks movie, and Flying Trapeeze class. I can’t forget about the “Secrets to a flatter stomach” class. . . I may need to attend.

Here are a few pics form this morning. . . Thanks for tuning in.

Does the Johnny rockets menu mean they now charge by item instead of a cover charge to enter?

Yes that is correct. No cover alacarte menu. Plus no longer waiter service it is self serve. No show and one officiato of JR's also claimed shakes are 1/3 smaller, that I cannot attest too.

Not sure how many people you have booked in your cabin but 6614 is listed to hold up to 4 people while 6290 and 6170 both can hold 2.

Both 6290 and 6170 do have larger balconies and only have a 50% obstruction which means the lifeboat that comes almost up to railing height is there but you do not have the davit that goes all the way to the ceiling interfering with your view.

I had 6290 booked but changed it based on people complaining about the noise from Jamie's kitchen that is below it.

I would switch to 6170.

Towels on the chairs? Have I missed a change in Royal's towel "checkout" system, or is this something unique to Quantum or the Solarium?

On our last 3 cruises on RCL we only had to check out our towels if we were bringing them off the ship. At the pool we were given as many as we wanted.

Rough seas indeed...the low you sailed through is forecasted to bring a foot of snow from NJ, Philly, all the way to Boston tomorrow. You should be happy you are on your way south to the warm weather!

Loving this report...keep the pics coming! Those of us stuck in the cold need them!! Ha! 😎

On the January 11 sailing we made it to the Diamond Lounge twice. It was way too crowded. We mainly went to the Music Hall, which was right next door. After they see you are Diamond or above, they don't even bother taking the drinks off the seapass card and you can still use it at other bars as long as it's by 8:30.
