vegascruiser1 Posted January 25, 2015 #101 Share Posted January 25, 2015 Thank you for the live post. My cousin & her husband are on this cruise. They had no heat in their cabin, just cold air blowing. They are hanging out at the Solarium. They are also making the best of it. Have a great cruise and keep up the positive attitude. Rare DragonOfTheSeas Posted January 25, 2015 #103 Share Posted January 25, 2015 Love your positive attitude. In keeping with that. . . you will get to travel the Mississippi River in the daylight hours. That is supposed to be a treat. Here is a CC thread I found [and bookmarked] that describes what you will be seeing. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1211622 Have fun!:D

Sun is bright...sky is blue...should provide nice photo ops!:D What a great treat! It takes about 6-7 hours to get to the mouth of the river and into the Gulf, so you should have most of the trip down in daylight. Once you are in the Gulf, you should have a very nice of view the oil rigs lit up at night. This is a spectacular sight. I imagine that the onboard stores and casinos will be open by 8 pm. Have fun! I also found it curious that cellphones will work well out in the gulf. I suppose the oil rigs are wired for cell service. One thing I never expected during our NOLA sailing. One thing I never expected during our NOLA sailing. Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app I didn't know that. When we sailed on Serenade a few weeks ago, I switched my phone to airplane mode just after Boothville.
sweetcruiser106 Posted January 25, 2015 #116 Share Posted January 25, 2015 FYI, if anyone wants to watch Serenade sailaway, go to http://www.nola.com/rivercam/#incart_m-rpt-1 Serenade is in the upper right hand corner right now. Anne:)

Havana Daydreamin Posted January 25, 2015 Author #123 Share Posted January 25, 2015 We have been getting two cruise compasses each day so far. The first one is the canned cruise compass that they just change the "proper" info of sunrise, sunset, and I suppose and changes of entertainment. Then later in the day we would get a revised one. So these first two are revised and not like the ones that may be out next week. It has been a beautiful trip down the might Mississipp!!! I have to decide on pictures at some point. We are doing the Chef's Table this evening so I may not be able to do too much. Hope you all understand and bear with me on this vacation!:) Anyway, without further adieu here is Day 1 Cruise Compass Revised.....
