murfturf Posted February 1, 2015 #26 Share Posted February 1, 2015 I loved Dominica, but I have heard people who have experienced problems on that island. We loved it and then watched a House Hunters Caribbean there and thought maybe we'd end up doing the same thing! :) St. Maarten/St. Martin was also great. Spent 3 days in Puerto Rico post cruise and loved it there too! I didn't like Ochos Rios much, and we are going back to Falmouth in the Spring and I'm wondering if we should cancel the Dunn River trip and stay aboard Allure? I've been to Dominican Republic to an all-inclusive and wasn't impressed, but would be willing to try again.
Rare ontheweb Posted February 1, 2015 #27 Share Posted February 1, 2015 We have not been on that many Caribbean cruises to really answer this question, but I have a problem reading all the hate for Jamaica. In 2012, our cruise included Jamaica. We went on the Bob Marley bus excursion, and had a great time. Five years before we started to go on cruises, we spent a vacation in Ochos Rios at an all inclusive for our 20th anniversary. And then too we had a wonderful time including climbing Dunn's River Falls.

momoftwinteens Posted February 6, 2015 #39 Share Posted February 6, 2015 Favorites are Curacao, St. Thomas and Barbados. Least favorite was Antigua. The whole port area is very shady and I just didn't feel safe there.

We toured with Courtney Taylor to Prospect Plantation and Enchanted Falls. Had the best day ever on a cruise. Children were dismissing from school and we talked with them as we toured the island. They were so excited to speak with American educators, what a great day!
