My Time Dining??

Recommended Posts

Any advice for the My Time Dining? We always select the late traditional dining but not available on our upcoming cruise on Legend of the Seas next month.

Thanks in advance!

If you are still interesting in traditional, try speaking to the Maitre D' once you get on board. They may be able to switch you. Failing that, just make standing reservations for the late traditional time.

WE prefer traditional...we like having table mates and that doesn't happen in MTD...at least, not often!

They will change you once onboard! And, if they can't, you can eat whenever you want....you can go at the late traditional seating time, but you'll be seated alone.

We had a group of 10 in May. We always do traditional late seating also. We ended up with MTD. So we made a nightly reservation at 8:00 for the entire cruise. Had the same table and same wait staff every night. It was "traditional" in every sense of the word. Really, MTD gives you the flexibility of varying your dining time or turning it into "traditional" as you wish.

We loved MTD on our last cruise, which was our first time to have MTD.

We found a waiter we loved and we were able to make reservations for one of her tables at whatever time we wanted each night. A few times we came earlier than our reservation and we were still able to get seated in her area. We ended up giving her our WOW cards (it was a B2B, so we had 2 to give to her) because she was such a great waiter and sweet person....and, she was willing to tell us what was actually good and bad on the menu each night, steering us away from unpopular choices. :)

MTD service was faster than traditional dining, which we liked because it would drive us nuts when it would take forever to get out of the dining room with traditional dining, especially if you had table mates who were slow eaters or latecomers. 45-60 minutes for a regular dinner is long enough, especially when there is so much more we could be doing onboard.

With MTD we still chatted some with diners close to our table...there were a few people who must have also reserved tables with our waiter and around our time and we would see them often and chat some nights. The difference is that we could chat if we wanted to or not if we weren't in the mood.

We were so hesitant to have MTD, and now we are glad we tried it.

We have done MTD since the day it started and LOVE it. Will never go back to traditional. We rarely make reservations, love the flexibility of eating when we feeling like it. Only time we make reservations is like the first night out of PR so we can get done in time for Sailaway or on Oasis when we wanted to make certain shows.

Otherwise, we never make reservations as to me that defeats the purpose of MTD which is ALL about flexibility. We have found we really enjoy eating alone and not having any more 2-3 hour dinners. We talk to so many people during the day we enjoy have the down time at night eating alone and talking about the day and what the next will bring.

We have also been able to have the same waitstaff for the entire week even in MTD so that is always nice

Have you ever done MTD? Even on one cruise? If so, then you would know that you absolutely can have table mates. Our last cruise, we joined others at a large table and had a great time. In MTD, you can request a table for just your party, or you can be seated with others. I wouldn't want anyone reading your comment to think it is the way you say.
