Your experience reminds us that savvy travelers should always have a PlanB; "Next Flight to USA..and step on it" often works.

 

Funny you should mention this; hubby has a t-shirt that says "Plan B better be good", and it's so true! I thought we could fly from Panama to Ft Lauderdale, but there were only 2 options, 1 of which included a 16 hour layover in Bogota, Colombia, the other was via Dallas, Washington and then FLL. I decided to go with Plan B which was getting us to Miami (direct 2.4 hr flight), and staying there will we needed to get to our pre-arranged hotel in FLL.

 

We are now enjoying the last little bit of warmth with our friends in Florida before leaving tomorrow morning for the "frozen tundra". It really made me feel good knowing today was -41C at home today while we were basking in the sunshine and humidity of beautiful Florida.
