skidrow1950 Posted March 7, 2015 #1 Share Posted March 7, 2015 Sailing on Navigator of the Seas in April and have purchased the Premium Drink Package. Like to have a Diet Coke to take my medicine with just prior to going to bed in the evening and also for the same reason when I awake in the morning. Am I allowed to take a 12 pack of Diet Cokes onboard? If not, any recommendations of how to accomplish this issue? Thank you-

They serve coke products on board. Any on the resturants and bars on the promenade serve it to you in a glass. We always went down in the morning and got a glass of coke or 2 and brought them back to the room.
Merion_Mom Posted March 7, 2015 #3 Share Posted March 7, 2015 They get very squirrelly and strict during spring break season. That said, cans are harder to adulterate, so they should be safe. Bottles are likely to be confiscated, just because it's April. But as stated, you get coke included in your beverage package. Take an empty bottle with a strong cap, and fill it from your souvenir cup whenever you want to keep some coke for later. :)
live2vayk Posted March 7, 2015 #4 Share Posted March 7, 2015 However, their policy is not clear on this issue. I think you will be OK to take a few cans/bottles on with you. You do need to carry it on, and it must not be opened. Having said that, I guess they can still say no, but I have brought it on with me for the last few cruises that I have sailed on RCI, and they have allowed it. gatour Posted March 7, 2015 #5 Share Posted March 7, 2015 You can get Diet Coke onboard the ship so am not sure why need to bring some onboard. Having said that, I used to be Diet Pepsi fiend. Liked one or two in the morning, instead of coffee. Upon embarkation, I would bring a few on-board to carry me over to the first port of call, then replenish as needed during port stops. Every so often the cans would get a look-see, but once they realized they were sealed cans and I wasn't trying to the game the system, they let me pass through. For me, it wasn't me trying to save money, I just had a preference for Diet Pepsi. If I liked Diet Coke, I would have certainly not gone through the bother. Ocean View Posted March 8, 2015 #6 Share Posted March 8, 2015 And for me I like diet ginger ale. Had a soda machine on the allure but none on my next sailing on Liberty. Since I am not flying for this sailing I'm thinking about bringing a few cans. Reg is to sweet for me. I have seen people bring cans aboard[emoji267]
LEtue Posted March 8, 2015 #7 Share Posted March 8, 2015 I thought the issue was you can't get diet Coke on board. My cabinmate couldn't find it on the Serenade in October. They kept giving her Coke Light even in the Diamond Lounge. Was this because we were in the Med?
Cruisin'Kim Posted March 8, 2015 #8 Share Posted March 8, 2015 I always bring a few cans of diet Pepsi on board in my check in luggage - never had a problem.

Even after they come back to the US from Europe, it might take a cruise or two before their stock of Coke Light is gone.
F27TW Posted March 8, 2015 #10 Share Posted March 8, 2015 We were on Enchantment last week .. boarded in Port Canaveral and saw the folks ahead of us carrying on a case of water and a 12 pk of Coke as they boarded. No one questioned or stopped them. Definitely doing it next time ... they charge $2.25 for a can on board.
SC_Floaters Posted March 9, 2015 #11 Share Posted March 9, 2015 You can get a can of soda at any bar with your premium package. Wife & I did that on a recent cruise, visited the casino bar on way to our cabin to retire and we each got a large glass of ice and an un-opened can of Diet Coke.... From the Coca-Cola website... "Diet Coke, also known as Coca-Cola light in some markets, is a sugar- and calorie-free soft drink. It was first introduced in the United States on August 9, 1982, as the first new brand since 1886 to use the Coca-Cola Trademark. Today, Diet Coke/Coca-Cola light is one of the largest and most successful brands of The Coca-Cola Company, available in more than 150 markets around the world." Their policy is very clear on this issue, you are not allowed to bring it on. The trouble is, they are very inconsistent in ENFORCING their policy.
