Captain de Vries asked for everyone in the forward part of the ship to remain indoors, off balconies and on the outer decks. The Crow's Nest, Gym, and Spa were cleared as well. Using the Bridge Cam on our TV, we could watch almost the entire procedure. Fascinating to see, but very sorry for the person involved.
rjbean4 Posted April 21, 2015 #16 Share Posted April 21, 2015 If referring to this Eurodam medivac as in off of Stavanger, Norway at the beginning of her August 2013 Trans Atlantic from Amsterdam to New York, we were on it. If so we heard it was for someone who had a stroke after we left Stavanger and of course it couldn't wait till we arrived in Bergen the next morning. rjbean4 Posted April 21, 2015 #21 Share Posted April 21, 2015 (edited) 6 ?? I heard 3 while listening in on the VHF through the Port of Miami webcam. They were a heart attack, head injury and someone with a fractured ankle. Were there 3 more? Glad that these people are now off the ship getting the necessary care as Ryndam is Trans Atlantic to Europe. 7 days at sea from Tampa to Horta, Azores. Left Tampa on the 19th, so her stop off of Miami was after she had come around from Tampa. One of the reasons she was delayed leaving Tampa was a medical disembarkation. There was a late delivery they were waiting for and also problems in the channel which also delayed the Norwegian Sun. Mom & I were on the March 29th sailing of the Ryndam and we also lost 6. Three of them were before we sailed on the 29th cause of medical problems. Then we had the murder/suicide discovered after we docked in San Juan which was 2 more. Then my mom heard that we lost someone else also the day we were in San Juan due to a heart attack. Good idea to travel with trip insurance cause you never know.
