Luckysll Posted April 21, 2015 #2 Share Posted April 21, 2015 Not sure I'd want to have a couple of extra days at sea under those conditions! :(
sailor_jimc Posted April 21, 2015 #3 Share Posted April 21, 2015 Stranded? Not quite sure that term is correct. It is staying out of the harbor and waiting out the storm due to unsafe docking conditions. Hardly "stranded" But yes, that would suck.

Rare jimbo5544 Posted April 21, 2015 #6 Share Posted April 21, 2015 Carnival Spirit is stranded outside Sydney Heads in giant waves. Search the news to see story. I read the story, and def. wold not want to be on the ship right now. That said, stranded is perhaps the wrong word to use.
Georgeny Posted April 21, 2015 #7 Share Posted April 21, 2015 As much as they want to be land resorts and charge like it, the sea will always make it a different ballgame! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

hermitstyle Posted April 22, 2015 #11 Share Posted April 22, 2015 The waves didn't look that bad. Reminds me of the time my DDG was chasing a hurricane. Now those were waves!:D
KevCruiser Posted April 22, 2015 #12 Share Posted April 22, 2015 The description of stranded that is used as a verb means to be halted or struck by a difficult situation.

GUT2407 Posted April 22, 2015 #17 Share Posted April 22, 2015 Wow. How much extra time did they have on the ship? Overnight? I thought that it was due in on Monday, so two extra days, but I may have that wrong.
paddingtonbear Posted April 22, 2015 #18 Share Posted April 22, 2015 The waves were 11 metres high. The lifts were hitting the walls of the lift shafts. Poor people who missed their flights only to land and find domestic flights delayed and many international flights diverted to Melbourne and Brisbane. How quickly can I get from the port to the airport? Well, it depends.... Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app
