Lack of Dreamworks on Anthem of the Seas

Recommended Posts

I wish there was a way that we could collaboratively send a message to Royal (Adam, Richard, etc.).

Maybe through Twitter to the RC PR account and some other places?

If the message that they tried to pull a fast one or that they have mislead the public (intentionally or unintentionally) is out there for all to see, we might get some action.

Ideally, this would be a last resort, with the first approach being an organized message and conversation with RCI brass, first.

There is a RCCL Rep who is a member here on CC, username - Royal Caribbean International but this subject may be something he/she can't answer.

I'm not thinking that this is high I their priority/damage control list, but it would be nice to get something other than a canned, legally advised, un-informed answer from Royal Caribbean.

They pay the marketing companies a lot of money to market correctly their product. The marketing companies have falsely advertised the product.

The marketing depts in the UK and the US have been given the info that there is proof out there that Dreamworks was advertised as being on Anthem of the Seas. What they do with it ..who knows...if guests who are affected by this false advertising want to let the bosses know that is entirely up to them.

UK guests have gone to the MD of RCCL UK and his team basically called them liars...so if guests want someone higher to go to then now they have the email addresses of those to contact.

Its Mr Levens response via his representative that really surprises me.

Either the UK MD and his team have no idea that incorrect information has been previously marketed (surprising given the number of travel agents still advertising Dreamworks on Anthem) or there has been a change of plan and they are trying to brush it under the carpet.

Either scenario is not ideal from the UK team and not what I have come to expect from previous very professional dealings with Royal Caribbean.

I'll contact Stuart Leven first of all and then try the US contacts. I'm booked on three future cruises, love the product so I'm not on any vendetta but it would just be good to have some proper clarification on what has gone on.

I agree with you, but I don't think that the marketing department acted independently.

There's usually a review process of the marketing materials, and I'm sure the executives have seen the material out and about.

I was thinking of giving them a few working days to formulate a response to my email and then I will give those other email addresses a try, thank you kindly for providing them!

I am disappointed I didn't even receive an acknowledgement email for sending them the proof of their 'mistake'. However I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that maybe Mr Masters and Mr Levin finished a day early for the bank holiday weekend or were so astounded to find their company had made such a huge mistake they are temporarily stunned into silence!

Likewise, however reading CC for the last day or so I think they are rather occupied fire fighting the new Taste of Anthem menu launch. I think there are more people likely to complain about their dinner arrangements than those concerned about the Dreamworks experience.

I'm not a legal mind, but I just don't get how they can advertise one thing, take thousands of pounds off me and then not deliver the thing.

I don't understand how this is not a priority because surely they've mis-sold cruises worth thousands of pounds to lots of people? Surely that's a priority over whether people like their dinner? :(

Yes I think they will. It was pants. Especially as regular menus were out in diamond lounge and changed daily. We were very disappointed when we sat down at Silk for a curry (having pre-chosen our food over drinks before dinner) and were offered

a very weird mix of food indeed.

One observation though regarding dream works; there is a large section of the logo gift shop dedicated to dream works merchandise - t shirts, soft toys etc.

What this proves is that Quantum and Anthem are the same class. Anthem has Dream Works, so it can be on that webpage. Quantum has a Giraffe and that can be on there as well. This is a mashup of all three Quantum class ships that showcases everything. It doesn't say all these features are on all three ships.

I'm not sticking up for RCCL, but this isn't Anthem only information, so it isn't proof.

Typical RCCL pay through the nose for the merchandise but don't get the characters you booked for. Thanks for the heads up, we certainly won't be taking the kids into the logo shop, more lost revenue.

Thank you for this, I'm compiling a folder of all this evidence just in case this thread disappeared for any reason! I've forwarded all the proof as it's come in to CMasters but no response yet (hopefully due to the bank holiday!)

I think the fact they said they never advertised Dreamworks on Anthem was a bizarre and misconsidered response!

I really appreciate everyone's responses on this thread, without it I'd have had no proof that I wasn't imagining it!

I can't find it, I'm not very tech savvy and probably missing it, can you talk me through how to find it in idiot-proof steps - Husband thankfully is tech-savvy - sent details to CMasters.

I'm guessing the link was from the US site therefore UK users will default to UK RCCL site so you can't see the details.

Try this link & scroll down to day 12.

:):):):)

That states

World-class performers from across the globe come together on our ships to WOW you from morning to night. Catch Broadway musicals, the DreamWorks Experience, ice-skating spectaculars — plus thrilling casino action, live comedy and music, bars, clubs and much more.

With their new web design it is picking up 'generic' text for all ships on 'Cruising' days. This particular generic text is 'More about onboard activities'

When you click on that link and then select 'Kids, Teens and Families', the DreamWorks Experience is not included for Anthem.

The have really created a problem in doing this as the ships across the fleet have varied 'enhancements'

Quantum Class does not have a Comedy Club or Ice Skating Rink either, just as Anthem does not have the DreamWorks Experience.

I am on Anthem right now and haven't had time to read the whole thread but the brochure they gave me on board today does state that DreamWorks experience is onboard!

Unbelievable! every day seems to bring more proof that RCCL have really shot themselves in the foot on this matter.
