daka Posted May 3, 2015 #1 Share Posted May 3, 2015 We are booked on the Dec 26 cruise in a Standard balcony stateroom, since we just returned (April 25/May 2 cruise) we thought we'd like to upgrade to a Junior Suite.....ummm....I think we'll be taking 3 additional cruises at the cost difference. My Travel Agent quoted us the cost of a JS NOW is about $20,000...vs the $3600 we paid for the original cabin....I guess it's a VERY popular time. How much is a JS ordinarily ? daka Posted May 3, 2015 Author #4 Share Posted May 3, 2015 Oasis for Dec 25 2015
spazzyjanet Posted May 3, 2015 #5 Share Posted May 3, 2015 Yeah, I've been looking at the Junior Suite prices for the Allure New Years cruise for a while now and they are out of this world expensive. Something has to give and they eventually have to come down since there appear to still be plenty available and no one is booking them. I'm keeping track in case they come down enough to upgrade our hump balconies.
chawkjewel Posted May 3, 2015 #6 Share Posted May 3, 2015 Oasis for Dec 25 2015 I think generally the JS is roughly about twice what the regular balcony is. So this difference is quite a lot!! Scary!
scorpluvsdolphins Posted May 3, 2015 #7 Share Posted May 3, 2015 I'm thinking the Oasis as it is over 10,000 per person for a Junior suite. Yikes! Wow my D1 12 night Serenade over Christmas and New Year's for $5000 for the room is looking pretty good. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

How much is a JS ordinarily ? I believe its Oasis, since the dates and price match what the OP posted... because it is a NYE sailing the price is inflated... if you do a mock booking for the cruise on the 3rd, a JS is just over 2k per person
Rare silentbob007 Posted May 3, 2015 #9 Share Posted May 3, 2015 Christmas used to be "cheap" cruise time but has become a more and more popular vacation through the years. It's even worse for those who fly because even if you wait to see if you can snag any last minute availability, airline tickets will only go up up up. cb at sea Posted May 3, 2015 #10 Share Posted May 3, 2015 That HAS to be a typo... NO JS is worth that kind of money on ANY ship!!!
Ourusualbeach Posted May 3, 2015 #11 Share Posted May 3, 2015 (edited) That HAS to be a typo... NO JS is worth that kind of money on ANY ship!!! Not a typo. It's a Christmas sailing. Check out prices on cabins above the JS if you really want to see crazy. RLS was just over $30,000pp for the week. perditax Posted May 3, 2015 #12 Share Posted May 3, 2015 Not a typo. If this is the oasis dec 26 sailing, cruise fish shows the steady rise to $10k/pp.
perditax Posted May 3, 2015 #13 Share Posted May 3, 2015 For an amusing comparison, the same money on the SAME DATE gets you a giant 1bdrm concierge suite on the Disney fantasy. So much for the famous gap.
bouhunter Posted May 3, 2015 #14 Share Posted May 3, 2015 (edited) That is absurd. I can't believe anyone would book at that rate.................... Edited May 3, 2015 by bouhunter
