If you want to guess, that's fine with me.

@caroldoll has met me.

I am still in my 50's for a little while.

ChatKat, we are similar in that "younger" age group. LOL! And, Caroldoll knows me too..pics and email and I hope to meet her in person in Cali when I visit my daughter. I think the 3 of us would be fun together ;-)

Our cruise had something going on every night at 10:30 after the show, not that we were awake for any of it: Karaoke, Name that Tune, Siglo Band, movies. On some nights there was stargazing with the on board astronomer. We were so "exhausted" after lounging on the Spa Terrace most of the day that we were thankful to sink into the wonderful Tranquility bed long before 10:30. :D

We are 68

My 2 cents... We enjoy Oceania because it's quiet. Never been to a show, nor trivia, or dancing. In bed early, up at 5:30am. We are 52 and 53. "Young-ish".

Daughter, at 18, and I cruised Azamara. She thought it was perfect. Quiet and low key. If you go by age, she should have wanted crazy, busy, party.

I see the ads on television for all the ships with the bells and whistles. Activities galore...

I see those and see instant Migraine.

You have to know yourself.

I am type A, OCD, but happen to also have "blonde moments" ...DH survives as well, because I make sure he has fun :)

Me too - if you are headed to Southern Califonria, let Carol know and she knows how to reach me we can all get together.

We are 68

...congratulations on making it.

We have been on the 18 day Tahiti cruise.

Of course, passenger mix can vary cruise to cruise... but, by and large, there is no night life. The decks get rolled up at 11pm.

There might always be a few well-lubricated gamblers in the Casino... or a couple or two swaying in Horizons... but for the most part, most folks look very tired at 10:30 or so.

Don't get me wrong... that is why we love the cruises here. I cruise to chill... not to party. I can do that anytime at home

As said, there is not as much nightlife or participation in nightlife on many of the Oceania cruises as on some other lines (but the food and cabins are much better!). In SP, we did not stay up very late after spending the days in the sun when docked and at various activities when at sea. But as a person who does not sleep much or long, I can tell you sunrise in the South Pacific is worth getting up early for (and the coffee machines are always ready). Late at night is also tranquil and a lovely time for a walk on the top deck.

  • 4 weeks later...

We're 66 going on 35.Once upon a time, I was a night owl and never in bed before Midnite. Now I sleep with a woman who thinks zero dark thirty is a little late to wake up. Therefore 21:30 hours is mandatory beddy bye if I want to function normally the next day!:)

Having said that, I agree with previous comments about the activity level after 9PM on O. It's more laid back, not in your face, and frankly, pleasant.

Sailedmany times in the South Pacific, and the there is little to do after dinner So, generaly, after pm people head to their cabins and relax on the veranda with a drink and soak up the atmosphere. Too, these cruises attract people looking rest up at night to start each day at dawn....which becomes more and interesting. During the day there are a daily enrichment lecture. and Trivia . The casinos and lounges are pretty empty after 6 when every one goes to dine..... There are no production shows and the"show" for the night is only a solo act ...no movies on deck

On my last cruise from Tahiti they tried to throw a deck party but only about 20 people came. it is a different breed who sails Oceania ,more reserved and back

My experience on A FP cruise on Marina was quite different from Dan's.

There were several groups of pax that were very animated and most venues were active after 9PM. There was a performance of local dancers brought onboard that was full capacity. I suppose it depends on the cruise:rolleyes: but I suspect that particular cruises that attract group & alumni bookings are more active.

there are cruises around the south pacific and across the pacific, they traverse vast sections of ocean and remote places. These are the ones I write about where there are 3 to 7 sea days at a time... no troups of native dancers or the like

Then there are the cruises around Tahiti... where you never 100 miles from lots of recreation and entertainment dancers performers of all sorts THESE CRUISES are far different from the pacific travels ones .Which, while the hit Tahiti make it a stop rather than a destination Tahiti cruises are very much like the Carribe in the respect of lots to do and lots of performers to do it.
