Linda,

I just wanted to say Bravo - I loved your answer on the main board.

I am heading to Anthem this weekend - I am not happy that they are getting rid of dynamic dining later this year.

It should be a crowded casino, although I am not in the 'spa' group.

See you in October.

We like DD too and sorry to see it going away. Your right, the casino will be crowded and crowded again when we're both on it with the Golf Event :)

Wishing you the best of luck, see you real soon :)

Tami

O.k. You got m, who is Andy?

Andy is a singer, he sings in the casino at special CR events sailings. Some of us on this board have met him on various RCI ships. We even booked 3 cruises only to see and hear Andy sing, he has an amazing voice and he gets the crowd singing and dancing in the casino, it is a lot of fun.

You are right about the poster on the main board, looks like any offer he is getting is on the MJ or Empress, and the empress would be good for him it's non smoking. Of coups it worries me based in what they are saying about he new program and current play time. We will not spend as much on Empress next week, would hate to be on a hot machine only to have to leave it for a smoke.

That is why we don't cruise on Celebrity anymore.

We should be safe if they keep their word on the part of us people that have been part of the club for years.

I also feel we'll be safe and will be grandfathered into the new program, where the new members have to earn their benefits, each and every sailing.

I was on the Empress back in July, and it was real tough with the no smoking. Right outside the casino on the outside deck you can smoke, if you can find ashtrays.

There were a lot of complaints about the no smoking by CR players. I was told by Luis the casino host that it was because of the poor ventilation, and lack of AC. By the time I left he said that they were planning on reorganizing the casino, making part smoking, and part non smoking once the ventilation system was fixed and the machines and tables were switched around a bit.

I would be curious if that's still their plan. Can you find out ?

Btw the Empress has some of the best crew that I ever sailed with - except for the limited smoking areas and lack of AC in the casino (which I believe has been corrected) - I loved the ship. Make sure to check out the outside cigar lounge behind Boleros. Unfortunately it's so nice - non smokers took it over.

I received the same email today also, for an OV. I wish they would send these out bit sooner. I usually have my cruises planned 1 year out. I only have 6 weeks of vacation so I have 3-4 cruises set up and use the week or two leftover for other trips. By this point in the year, all of my remaining days are accounted for. I would have considered the one of the two 7 day'ers but I have Harmony B2B the first two weeks of Dec.

I got the same one for an OV. We're in the same boat (pun intended) regarding vacation time....otherwise I would jump on that 11-11 6 night western.

I think this is the same offer that others got yesterday via phone calls. Since I am away on business I would have missed that call.

Wish we could take advantage of it but cannot.

Ok, I received this offer as well for the trips mentioned above. This is the first time I have seen an email like this. Is this for real? Are there any gotchas to look out for? I assume we pay taxes, tips and such, but are we required to spend a certain amount in the casino?

Just curious how this works before I call them.

Thanks!

There aren't any hidden fees and you're not required to spend a certain amount. The terms and conditions section of the email covers all the things that aren't included. They give you the room and all the other charges are on you.

I have learned so much from this thread! Question: How can you take advantage of Next Cruise and CR rates and/or certificates together? If you're booking Next Cruise, won't it be at the current C&A rates or can they tap into CR rates at that time?

In order to work with CR, you need to be a member or have received an email or snail mail from them. On only 2 occasions the fare I secured doing next cruise booking was less than CR rate. More times than not the CR fare has been less. If you book thru CR and you are using your next fare res. # you will not be able to combine on board credit with any added CR discount (from slots or table play). If you have a certificate for a comp cruise that also is not combinable with on board credit. Many take advantage of using their on board credit on the cruise they are on specifically because you cannot combine on board credit with CR added promo discounts.

I guess my question is more the logistics of it. I am a CR member, would like to take advantage of the Next Cruise perk on our December cruise for a cruise we're wanting to do next summer. If I book the actual cruise I want to take at Next Cruise desk, then I won't be able to book through CR for the casino rate, correct? If I book an open-ended Next Cruise, then I don't receive OBC for the cruise I'm on (or do I?). It seems like it makes more sense not to bother with Next Cruise, but I think I'm not understanding the program if some of you are taking advantage of both. Thanks again in advance for any clarification!

You lose the next cruise OBC if you apply CR rates to your reservation later. I haven't tried the option where you use the next cruise credit on the sailing that you are on.

I book using Next Cruise all the time. I use the OBC for the current cruise. I get the sale rate or prevailing rate when I book onboard, and then when I get home I call Club Royale and they take over the reservation and give me the casino rate. They then also apply any discounts rom certificates I earn from my last cruise to that as well.

Thanks. I'll start using the Next Cruise OBC on the current cruise too. Wasted the last two OBC by doing it the other way.

  • 2 weeks later...

Also got the survey on smoking

They are performing a case study with High Rollers and original CR VIP members

to see how much revenue they will lose to keep TROYKAHACK happy:D

I am sure they will listen to the many rather than one person

They also wanted to know what watch I wear and what handbag brand I like:eek:

Troy your efforts to ban smoking on all RC ships is very noble and a crusade of $$$$ that will determine the outcome.

I no longer smoke, but IMO there should still be a place in the casino for those who do.

I am surprised TROY, you don't want to ban drinking on ships, more injuries and accidents caused from alcohol.

Got the survey too :( Something's up :(

Troy is a pita, I believe he's unaware of this thread and it's location, he'll just derail it to a smoking thread

Hey,

How's life?

The guy is on his own crusade to make cruising just the way he wants it

He is 0.01% of CC which is probably not even 0.1% of cruisers.

I am sure his casino $$$ are not significant enough to even cause a blip on the radar if he were to stop gambling in a smoking casino.

A very selfish individual.

Any good offers lately?

Happy Days:)
