Benefits of booking new cruise onboard? Also new Carnival stock holders.

Booking onboard gives OBC and two certificate for the same to give to friends the same benefit in the same cruise. The amount of OBC is dependent on how long the cruise is. Cannot book into a group.

The Book Onboard OBC can be stacked with the Shareholder's OBC.

To make booking onboard easier, we already know what cruise and cabin we want. Onboard we check carnival.com for the latest pricing.

Best to check pricing before meeting with loyalty specialist and they have in the past tried to get us to book at higher price than website showed.

We recently bought Carnival Stock for the OBC. Wondering if we book a future cruise while onboard what the additional benefits would be?

Thanks for any info!

$50-3/4/5 days cruises

$75-6 day cruises

$100-7-11 days cruises

$200 12+ days cruises

These can be combined with Shareholder Benefits.

We always book the shortest cruise with the furthest final payment date using Past Guest Rates only. (In February we booked a 4 day for April 2017. We will be changing that.) When we return home, we wait until the perfect cruise comes along then contact our PVP to transfer the booking number to the new sailing. We pay the additional deposit. The amount of the on board credit increases accordingly.

Stargate do they charge for changing the cruise date? I always feel so pressured at the desk onboard. Like they really do not want any questions.... some of you have said that they often try to give u a higher price. Do you take a print out with you?

Thanks so much.

I've always gotten the$200 benefit for over 14 days...not 12 ...

Has this recently changed?

Since we book using the Past Guest rates, we are not charged for switching to a different cruise. Booking under Early Saver or another restricted cruise will result in fees.

Don't let the Future Cruise person pressure you. We go up to the counter and tell the person that we want to book the shortest cruise furthest out using PG rates. I've never had any problems except once I was told it's best to have a specific cruise in mind when booking. I explained why we were doing what we were doing. The guy was actually impressed.

As far as higher fares, we don't care about that since it's a dummy booking. We have two years to find the "right" cruise, which usually appears within a few weeks of the dummy booking. :D

was wondering where you found the $75 info for a 6 day cruise. I just pulled up the shareholder benefit page from carnival corp and it doesn't have any listing for that option. thanks

I believe this is the OBC schedule for the Carnival Cruise Line Future Cruise Credit.

The shareholder OBC is from CarnivalCorp. and is somewhat different.

We definitely received $200 when we switched one dummy booking for a 13 day Panama Canal cruise we sailed last August and $200 for another dummy booking we switched to the 13 days Vista Transatlantic.

Shareholder benefits, on the other hand, give us $100 for cruises 13 days and shorter. It increases to $250 for cruises 14 days+.

With the new setup you are suppose to have done all you research about what cruise and what cabin and pricing before you go to the desk. They used to have at least 2 people helping with booking now only one, so they are trying to get you in and out as fast as they can to try to keep the line down. You can spend half the night waiting inline if you get there at the wrong time. What they need is a way to book online while on the ship and still get the OBC and Vouchers that would help a lot.

Ok so the advice is to book the dummy booking at the Past guest rate. Then when you book the real cruise are you locked into the past guest rate? Also, how does this work if you are going solo on a cruise?

Thanks!

I booked solo and got the whole OBC. Have to pay double deposit, the same cabin deposit as 2 people were booking.

I have been doing this for the past couple years.

However, IF you want to take advantage of any agency perks, you only have 90 days from your purchase to transfer. I never have them go to any agency when I purchase them. I cruise frequently so always have less than 90 day availability. Also easy to cancel. I usually buy 3 at a time.

Congratulations on becoming a CCL shareholder. I see CCL stock is up another $1.50 a share this afternoon. The market seems to like the prospect of cruises to Cuba.

We try to book the first day the desk is open, before the future cruise talk.

When we went to HI we were able to stack Book Onboard, Shareholder's and Milestone OBCs.

We have never used our stock holder credit but I was sure hoping it would be worth it... That doesn't sound very good...:(

Interesting...how long have you held shares? How many cruises have you been on? On average, how many days are the cruises that you book?
