LadyLeo84 Posted July 19, 2015 #1 Share Posted July 19, 2015 I love swimming with the stingrays at Stingray City. Just wondering though if anyone knows of another port that offers something similar? We have been to Stingray City 3 times and would like to try another port this time. Thanks in advance for all of your help!!
Suzanne123 Posted July 19, 2015 #2 Share Posted July 19, 2015 If you do an Eastern Caribbean cruise, you can swim with a sea lion in St. Thomas at Coral World.
lifes-a-beach Posted July 19, 2015 #3 Share Posted July 19, 2015 there are dolphin swims in Cozumel I think. you might consider taking up scuba or snorkeling and pretty much swim with whatever happens to be there. I love snorkeling and free diving.
CruiserBruce Posted July 19, 2015 #4 Share Posted July 19, 2015 To the specific subject of stingrays, no other port that I am familiar with has interactions with wild stingrays. A couple of places (Half Moon Cay) has small interactions with caged stingrays. As mentioned, there are several places with interactions with domesticated dolphins. To interact with wild dolphins, you need to go to a place like Monkey Mia.
YubaSutter Posted July 19, 2015 #5 Share Posted July 19, 2015 Belize has a shark ray alley tour. You swim with stingrays and nurse sharks.

OCruisers Posted July 20, 2015 #7 Share Posted July 20, 2015 None are as good as Stingray City in Grand Cayman. ;)
Rare Crew News Posted July 20, 2015 #8 Share Posted July 20, 2015 The port of Grand Turk & Caicos has a stingray excursion on the small island of Gibbs Cay. I thoroughly enjoyed. In waist-deep water, the small stingrays would swim between your legs and sometimes give you a gentle kiss. There was also an opportunity for some snorkeling. Jacs Posted July 20, 2015 #9 Share Posted July 20, 2015 Bora Bora has fantastic interaction with wild stingrays, we spend ages swimming around with them and reef sharks.
beachbum53 Posted July 20, 2015 #10 Share Posted July 20, 2015 (edited) I'd rather interact with one of these Stingrays: :D Edited July 20, 2015 by beachbum53
clackey Posted July 20, 2015 #11 Share Posted July 20, 2015 None are as good as Stingray City in Grand Cayman. ;) There is a stingray swim at Cay Caulker in Belize but, like OCruiser stated, it is not as good as the Cayman tour.
cruzeluver Posted July 20, 2015 #12 Share Posted July 20, 2015 We actually liked the stingray option in at Gibbs Cay during our stop at Grand Turk more than Stingray City in Grand Cayman. Don't get me wrong, Stingray City was great! But at Grand Turk it was far, far less crowded (accommodates a maximum of two cruise ships per day, far less than tender into Grand Cayman many days) and if you did not want to interact with the rays you could hang on the beach at Gibbs Cay. bakersdozen12 Posted July 20, 2015 #13 Share Posted July 20, 2015 I think I saw a sting ray excursion listed for Cozumel recently. But it's probably sting rays that are in a pen, not in the wild like in Grand Cayman.
ozarkmama Posted July 20, 2015 #14 Share Posted July 20, 2015 Stingray City in Antigua was great. We enjoyed interacting with the stingrays in the wild.
capncarp Posted July 21, 2015 #15 Share Posted July 21, 2015 Stingray City was an adventure we'll never forget, but when we were planning a cruise that included Grand Turk, Gibbs Cay's just off-the-beach option appealed to DW and the physically challenged couple we were planning to travel with. A day with the rays is a good day no matter what.
Cbear1973 Posted July 26, 2015 #16 Share Posted July 26, 2015 We did a stingray swim in Cozumel. They took us by mini bus to a place called StingRay Beach. My then 6-year-old LOVED this. Here's the link to the facility. http://www.stingraybeach.com/
Rare Cruise Junky Posted July 27, 2015 #17 Share Posted July 27, 2015 Stingray City in Antigua was great. We enjoyed interacting with the stingrays in the wild. Was just going to recommend Antiqua. The only issue I found with it though is it's not as shallow as GC. But great interaction with the Rays.
