dinosaurdem Posted August 14, 2015 #1 Share Posted August 14, 2015 We have never been on RCI, let alone Serenade. Are there exceptional dishes which you would recommend in any of the restaurants?

cruisingsince94 Posted August 15, 2015 #3 Share Posted August 15, 2015 If your asking in regards to the MDR, my wife and I both loved the Horseradish Crusted Salmon. We also loved the Filet of Beef Tenderloin.
CCC3 Posted August 15, 2015 #4 Share Posted August 15, 2015 (edited) Haven't been on Serenade, but these are good: strawberry kiwi Pavlova, sticky bread pudding, carrot cake, mojo pork chop, any of the cold soups--banana rum, peach--beef tenderloin, duck breast, veal Oscar, duck terrine. Now, mind you...we are NOT a picky family of eaters. But these are the ones we thought were good. Edited August 15, 2015 by CCC3
39august Posted August 15, 2015 #5 Share Posted August 15, 2015 (edited) Haven't sailed Serenade for a few years, but the filet of beef served on the first formal night has been good on every RCI ship I have sailed on. RadioRob Posted August 15, 2015 #7 Share Posted August 15, 2015 The escargot is fabulous. I love all of the chilled soups as well. The roasted duck is also very good! If you like steaks, be sure to check out Chops. Hands down, my favorite meal on the cruise. (It's a specialty restaurant so there's an extra cost involved.) RadioRob Posted August 15, 2015 #8 Share Posted August 15, 2015 Oh... and check out Park Cafe for the Kummelweck sandwich! It's absolutely to die for! (I always ask for extra meat and extra aus jus sauce!) http://www.royalcaribbeanpresscenter.com/video/304/a-sensational-sandwich-royal-caribbeans-kummelweck-tantalizes-guests/
bigkauhuna Posted August 15, 2015 #9 Share Posted August 15, 2015 If you are not sure of what you want on the menu choose all the items you would like to try, it is free except in speciality restaurants. On lobster dayyou can choose more than one as I prefer to ask for two and I have heard the record of lobster eaten is 19. Enjoy the Serenade, it was the first sailing we ever did and are working through the cruise line of ships. We prefer the Explorer size of ship. JasonTehGreat Posted August 16, 2015 #12 Share Posted August 16, 2015 There was a desert, can't remember the made, that had a white chocolate mousse with berries that was AMAZING. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
KeywestK Posted August 16, 2015 #13 Share Posted August 16, 2015 My favorite dish on ANY RCI ship is the lamb shanks. Seriously delicious.
impatientlywaiting Posted August 16, 2015 #14 Share Posted August 16, 2015 The egg bar in the Windjammer is the best. They make your eggs or omelets to order as you wait. Nothing like hot, fresh fried eggs over medium. I pair mine with that wonderful bread (in a long loaf) with raisins and large sugar crystals on top! Yum! plank Posted August 16, 2015 #15 Share Posted August 16, 2015 We usually enjoy all of our food on RCL. Occasionally we hit a miss. I do love the omelets for sure and the raisin bread is a fav of ours. Hubby goes down to get some each morning to have with coffee before our day begins:) Hint: That bread runs out fast! I told DH I'm going to take a baggy with me and take a couple slices back to the cabin for a late morning snack with my coffee every morning. On the last day of our cruise in March, I tried to get the main Windjammer manager to let me take the rest of the loaf but he wouldn't! LOL. I wish I could recreate that bread it's so good! Rare RCCL Fan Posted August 17, 2015 #20 Share Posted August 17, 2015 Serenade's "Chops" and Chef's Table were among my best meals I've had at sea. The filet is amazing

Sirena123 Posted September 12, 2015 #23 Share Posted September 12, 2015 I found most of the food to be so-so..BUT I loved the Windjammer chocolate donuts (shaped more like footballs) and the best thing I ate onboard was at the Chef's Table...a duck eggroll (not really an eggroll). Oh my gosh, it was heaven!
Rare SpainAlien Posted September 12, 2015 #24 Share Posted September 12, 2015 I thought most of the food on RCI was good but my favourite was the ceviche, I had two of those they were delish! The one that we really weren't impressed with was the bouillabaisse, we couldn't find any fish in there, it was like vegetables in a mild fish stock.
