Not only did they open it for us, but the divider slides into itself. It makes for a lovely, large opening and very nice joint balcony experience. Bon Voyage!

On both of those ships, the dividers are DESIGNED to be opened....as long as the Captain deems it safe to do so. Some ships have "fixed" dividers that cannot be opened at all.

 

Unless it's rough, the cabin attendant should open them for you...ask on boarding day when you meet your attendant.

That's the thing with Royal. What happens one week may not be the same the next week.

We had 5 adjacent cabins on Indy and had the dividers open. It was great.
