Torinate Posted November 9, 2015 #1 Share Posted November 9, 2015 I have unsuccessfully been able to search there website today. Numerous times on an iPhone, iPad, and 2 laptops. Frustrating! I get as far as putting in the cruise dates but nothing populates then. Just a page shudder and nothing else. Sorry for the rant. I've had my credit card out of my wallet and in my front pocket all day... Even the mobile app for iPhone didn't want to cooperate. Question though... Do most people book with RCI directly or use their favourite travel agent? I understand we're not able to post individual agents, but if there are specialists in this field I'm open to a private message... Hopefully that's ok to do. Didn't see anything against that... Thanks!

emdia43 Posted November 9, 2015 #3 Share Posted November 9, 2015 Sad to say that is the normal state of affairs for Royal Caribbean, and has been for a long time. In the time it takes to find the cruise you want on their website, you could have gone to Amazon and done all your Christmas shopping..:( Considering they supposedly read this forum regularly, they don't pay any attention to their customers complaints.. ken_nyc Posted November 9, 2015 #4 Share Posted November 9, 2015 I had a problem ALL DAY on 3 different browsers! When I booked in July I had a problem with the website and just called Royal Caribbean to book my cruise.
ken_nyc Posted November 9, 2015 #5 Share Posted November 9, 2015 Come to think of it they probably have the problem because of setting up for tomorrows BOGO sale even though it should not be a problem.
minn0315 Posted November 9, 2015 #6 Share Posted November 9, 2015 I have been online with RCI for nearly 15 years. I have never found the website to be down or unresponsive. Most of you that complain have an issue with your own computer/tablet/smartphone. Don't blame RCI for your technical problems.

It is down often, and when it's up it has more errors than I can count. For almost two years, for a recent cruise of mine, it was showing shore excursions on a sea day  I always use a large online travel agency website to search for cruises, and then I call my travel agent to book. Cheerlead away, but you might want to find a topic that you might get someone to agree with you on. the website has been horrible for years, and each revision causes another problem. I love RCCL it's my preferred cruise line, but there website is junk

Most of you that complain have an issue with your own computer/tablet/smartphone. Don't blame RCI for your technical problems. I find this to be the same with me. Today when I read about the supposed problems, I was able to do whatever I wanted using my computer and IPad. This is the same every time. It is very rare that I have not been able to access all functions needed on the site. Someone whose inter connect is failing gets on to complain and then all the parrots get on saying how bad it is without trying it. Cobaltstargazer Posted November 10, 2015 #20 Share Posted November 10, 2015 I had the same issue on thursday, on saturday i went to the website and found a 4 day cruise out of rome on the 17/8/16 that i had been watching had dropped to a price i was comfortable paying. I booked it, but now when i went on the website the cruise is no longer there.
tingyyy Posted November 10, 2015 #21 Share Posted November 10, 2015 joining in to vent as well. I got lucky earlier this year and actually managed to book a cruise on their website. These 2 weeks however I haven't been able to view the itinerary of ANY of their listed cruises. I click the 'view details' button for the cruise I am looking at and the itinerary that shows up simply shows the start date of the cruise under the "port" column. the 'arrive' and 'depart' columns are completely blank. so it goes like Day 1: xx / xx / 20xx Day 2: xx / xx / 20xx ... Tried using a different browser but no luck.

Most of you that complain have an issue with your own computer/tablet/smartphone. Don't blame RCI for your technical problems. I can't really say why some people have more problems with the website than others so I can't say it's their computers that have problems or whatever. I on the other hand have booked every cruise I have been on since 2008 till this year and have never had a problem with booking,, excursions, gift & gears, specialty dining reservation, making payments or anything else and that has been through all the many updates to the site. I am not cheerleading for their web site but that has just been my experience over the years So I am knocking on wood and hope that it continues to be that way for me!
cot427 Posted November 10, 2015 #23 Share Posted November 10, 2015 Not sure if this was already mentioned, but there is a page listing the ships where is says Ovation is coming out Fall 2016. Then you click on the ship for sailings and as we know it's coming out Spring 2016. What an embarrassing oversight!
ashleyxmarie Posted November 10, 2015 #24 Share Posted November 10, 2015 Is it me or is the "My Cruises" area incredibly outdated? It looks like they last made changes in 2003 and failed to make any improvements since then. There's no way to easily access "My Cruises" on mobile either and when you choose to click "View Desktop Website" it turns into a clunkier / distorted version of the mobile site... It's awful. Not to mention their app didn't work or connect at all to Royal Wifi while on the ship. RCCL IT, what gives!? ...okay, venting over with.

When I was reading this I immediately went to the website and tried a search for a specific cruise I'm looking for. No problem. I'm in the same boat as a few others - I've never had any issues with the website. Sure it changed not too long ago, but after spending a little bit of time poking around, it was pretty easy to figure out. And no, I don't work in the tech world - I'm retired. I just tried a new search again this morning - again with no problem. :)
