Seward or Girdwood

Some of our group suffer from serious seasickness & have suggested that we not spend 2 days in Seward if we skip the Kenai National Park cruise. They want to add a day in Girdwood. My question -- is there enough to do in Girdwood to spend 3 days there & only spend 1 day in Seward? We would only do the Ressurrection Bay cruise in Seward, Exit Glacier, & Woldlife Center.

Does anyone, have the interest in a Kenai Fjords boat tour? Priority for wildlife?

Have you looked at Girdwood activities? Any interest there? A lot of hiking available? Are you including a boat tour of Prince William Sound out of Whittier?

Again- Only your group can determine HOW you want to occupy your time. You need to figure this out first- as this will determine- where to stay- rather than just random guessing.

What is the Woldlife Center? Do you mean the SeaLife Center in Seward?

There are a number of hiking trails around Girdwood. If you use the CC search function you will find a number of references and descriptions. Near Girdwood is also the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center and also small boat tours to Portage Glacier. But you and your group need determine your own priorities to make an educated decision regarding whether "there is enough to do in Girdwood to spend 3 days there."

There are certainly 3 day’s worth of activities in the Girdwood/Turnagain Arm Area, as long as you venture out of Girdwood. It’s about 30 minutes plus tunnel time to Whittier, Portage Glacier, Byron Glacier, Trail of Blue ice, Wildlife Conservation Center. Crow Creek Mine is nearby as is the Winner Creek Trail and the Alyeska Tram. The Alaska Railroad Spencer Glacier float trip is very good on a nice day. The Alaska Railroad Portage Station is about 10 miles south of the Girdwood. If none of that is of interest, you have 2 too many days there.
