Can the certificate be applied to an already paid cruise?

We qualify for the certificate 4 weeks prior to a cruise we have paid for since final was due 60days prior to sailing date.

I dont know the answer to this, but I do know that C&A is "flexible" when it comes to the free cruise. I would call them.

Yes, you can apply it to an already booked cruise. Call the D+ Desk and ask to speak to one of the Pinnacle Club Resolutions Specialists.

Just keep in mind the certificate can only be used on the least expensive balcony category open. If you are booked in anything higher than the least expensive category, you will have to pay the difference (Even if you are still under the 2400.00 threshold). Since you are past final payment, they may not let you downgrade to a lower category of balcony.

Also, if you are not booked in a balcony (Currently in a Interior or oceanview) you will be upgraded to the lowest priced balcony available at today's rates, and you would be responsible for anything over 2400.00

Why do I bring this up? I have heard of other people doing this late in the game thinking it would save them money, and their "Free" cruise ended up costing as much as they would have paid for their normal interior stateroom.

I'm confused? Isn't the free "P" cruise for a 7 day, if so why did the OP want to apply it to a short cruise? I'm I missing something!:confused:Maybe the Canadian final payments are different then those in the USA? Edited by FLACRUISER99

Good catch, I missed that. May be an issue. I know the free cruise can be applied to cruises longer than 7 days, but I'm not sure that it can be applied to shorter cruises.

The cruise I want to apply certificate towards will be taken in November 2016 and I will not qualify for the P certificate until October 17.

The cruise will be 7 days and in lowest cat balcony and is 7 days. Since it is a Thanksgiving cruise the lowest cat balcony is way over $2400.

But I will have made final payment which is due 90 days prior to sailing therefore I wanted to know if the P Cert could still be applied.

OK, this makes more sense now. I'd still call the C&A dept. that Patti suggested and bounce it off them. The two cruises are very close to each other and that may be an issue. They may also have a problem with it being a Thanksgiving cruise.

Final payment would 75 days for a 7 day cruise. The only holiday cruises that are 90 days are Crristmas and New Years .

We were allowed to use our Pinnacle "certificate" before we even became Pinnacle. And it was for a 10 night cruise. We were also told it could have been applied to a paid for cruise. Money would just be refunded. They seem very flexible about these "free" cruises. Just call D+ desk and ask for a Pinnacle rep.

It really is a Discount applied to a cruise. It was not alway a free cruise. Unless the price worked out for the length and the cabin to be the same amount of the Certificate.

I would think after final payment the lowest balcony cat. could be reduced from what it was before final was due, so it may not apply to be used in this case.

We booked our Pinnacle Discounted Cruise before final payment. Made sure there was a lowest balcony cat. price on their web site to work with. Then paid the difference for a better cat. balcony we had previously booked, ports and taxes and gratuities......
