Cat_Powered_Internet Posted December 18, 2015 #1 Share Posted December 18, 2015 A few years ago I cruised on the Gem and (Horrible antiquated euphemism aside) met great friends at the "Friends of Dorothy" meetup in the Spinnaker lounge. Is there a similar LGBTQ meetup on the Breakaway? If so, where, and when was it on your voyage?
Son of a son of a ... Posted December 18, 2015 #2 Share Posted December 18, 2015 I would search "Breakaway" and "dailies." Then scan through them for the event. Please note that any location and time in prior dailies may be subject to change. Bon voyage!

Is there a similar LGBTQ meetup on the Breakaway? If so, where, and when was it on your voyage? Not sure about the Breakaway, but on our Jewel cruise from last week I did notice on the daily schedules posted on the LCD monitors throughout the ship that there was a nightly FOD/LBGT get together in the Maltings Bar. Unfortunately I can't tell you if it was specific to that cruise...but maybe it's a fleet-wide NCL occurence?
vince_g Posted December 18, 2015 #4 Share Posted December 18, 2015 There is a get together every evening, mostly at 8pm. It is held at either Shakers or Maltings.
sjbdtz Posted December 18, 2015 #5 Share Posted December 18, 2015 All NCL ships have them, every night. Check the Freestyle Daily newsletter for timing. .
Alegeeter Posted December 18, 2015 #6 Share Posted December 18, 2015 I always want to go to it but I feel like the meet-ups are always at the worst times! They usually overlap with the evening's entertainment/dinner. I wish they were held a bit earlier, like 5 or 6, generally after the ship has left port during a bit of a lull. There is too much going on around 8 :/

InTheWASide Posted December 18, 2015 #9 Share Posted December 18, 2015 What does the Q stand for? Just asking nothing more. Questioning or Queer. Depends on who you ask and how they define it. It's evolved over time.
Kingofwylietx Posted December 18, 2015 #10 Share Posted December 18, 2015 Is there a similar LGBTQ meetup on the Breakaway? By adding Q on it....isn't that acronym getting kind of loooooooong? It seems that BGT would be most appropriate. I say that since L is essentially G (but excludes the guys)...but G includes the girls (which makes L duplicitous). Q's are really S, or so they think...but maybe they are G or B. :p I do think it's great that NCL is inclusive to the point of offering the FOD events. In all, I think cruise lines do a great job of offering activities for everyone.

The few times I've been on the Breakaway, the FOD has always been at Shakers. Always a good time.

RVACruiser55 Posted December 18, 2015 #16 Share Posted December 18, 2015 LGBTQ FOD M&G. "I'd like to solve the puzzle, Mr. Sajak". That has to be the funniest thing I have ever read on CC. Probably it will be deleted as to not offend someone thin skinned, but it is funny as hell.
