Voyager of the Seas guest ejected after attack

Oh dear - when cruises go wrong - it seems that not everyone had a good time on this Voyager of the Seas cruise in NZ earlier this week

 

An Australian man was kicked off the Voyager of the Seas cruise ship after he assaulted his ex-partner while on the way to the Bay of Islands...On the same day, a 74-year-old passenger was issued with a formal warning after police said she tried to steal jewellery from a Paihia shop

 

I guess you get 4000 on a ship together and there can be a few bad eggs

We were on the VOS cruise that finished last Friday.

 

We had people leave that cruise with their luggage at most ports...most of they didnt look happy to be leaving.

I was aware of one person being removed in Bay of Islands from the 5/12 cruise on Voyager, but not others. That individual had been "confined" to their cabin with security outside since our first stop in Mystery Island.

We've had people leave our ships every sailing we've done... But only on our Aussie sailings! Lol.

There was an all in family brawl on Radiance a couple of years ago- (like 10+ people throwing punches!) for the next few days, a few of them had black eyes. Ha ha. Just the two main people got asked to leave!

One boy, (he was 17) got thrown off for bringing pot on board. His parents stayed on the cruise!

i found that out 26 years ago when i first became a checkout chick nearly flipped to find 70/80 year olds stealing was not heaps but there were a few of them :eek:

On our rhapsody cruise a father and son had a fight in the casino and a chair was thrown.

 

During the art auction a man was so enraged that he was not the highest bidder that he punched a hole threw the painting.

 

Just remember these stories have passed 2000 sets of lips...... Australians are not known for embellishing their stories at all.

on my cruise i only know of ones with sea sickness real bad for leaving and one poor crew man who got a huge knock to the head when getting the tender back on the ship [hope he is ok. ] only found out later on on my cruise that someone from the crew got hurt

aussies tails get bigger and bigger then what they started off like but how some are acting on the road i would not put if past some idiot to do art rage like that :eek: or close to it :D

On one memorable trip on the old Pac Sun we had a group kicked off the ship at Mystery island for fighting in the laundry. A plane landed on the islands airstrip and took the passengers to the nearest international port at their expense.

 

When it comes to shop lifting I had a long career in retail there is no specific age profile it can be anyone from kids to the elderly often the person caught is well dressed and has more than enough on them to pay for the goods.

We went on our first cruise Sea Princess to NZ last January. Two female "friends" were put off first stop Auckland for heckling abusing the DJ and wouldn't stop after warnings.

Two other females - obviously not friends, were put off for having a physical altercation (punch up) in the laundry over machines.

Second cruise Solstice November, staff weren't telling any tales. :)

Third cruise coming up in February Pacific Dawn, who knows??

The best/worst laundry rage story I heard was of a lady on an American cruise ship , who went to collect her washing and found a dress missing. Next day she saw her dress being worn around the pool deck....confrontation ensued which ended up with the two of them pulling each others hair and rolling around the deck. Security came rushing to break it up .

They were both put off at the next stop.:eek:

I've had one firsthand experience. On the second last night of our Carnival cruise there was a lot of shouting and scuffling right outside our room at around 3am. A violent domestic had happened up on another deck and security were bringing the man down to our deck to separate them and confine him to a separate cabin but the woman had followed them down and was screaming abuse at security. They ended up dragging her away and there was a security guard outside the cabin three up from ours for the whole last day of the cruise.

Funny if they had both been shopping at the millers boxing day sales & had both purchased that dress........ I do believe that chain stores make more than 1 of the same dress.

Ahh that explains why no laundry on Solstice, saving on security?? I thought it was to make you pay their inflated laundry service prices but fooled them, took enough clothes so didn't need to wash :)
