sdnich Posted December 26, 2015 #1 Share Posted December 26, 2015 Is the room 1645 next to the PH a problem because of the piano in the room or is it well insulated? ?
az_tchr Posted December 26, 2015 #2 Share Posted December 26, 2015 The piano there is rarely played. Stayed there and used it twice in 14 days. The piano also has walls (plural) between the cabin to starboard and is not close to any.

I think you mean 6145 not 1645......but anyway hope not since we have it booked for a cruise in 2017......
sdnich Posted December 26, 2015 Author #4 Share Posted December 26, 2015 Oh yeah 6145!! Good to here there is separation between rooms for sound proofing.
hulamoon Posted December 26, 2015 #5 Share Posted December 26, 2015 Add a rolled towel to under the door if you hear anything. It worked for us.
Happy Cruiser 6143 Posted December 27, 2015 #6 Share Posted December 27, 2015 Oh yeah 6145!! Good to here there is separation between rooms for sound proofing. The previous poster was obviously confused by the room number you stated. There are no walls separating the piano in 6147 from 6145 except for the wall between the two cabins which is pierced by a connecting door. If the people in the penthouse are playing the piano, you will hear it. Hope the towel under the door method works for you.

We heard less conversations etc.
need2bespoiled Posted December 27, 2015 #8 Share Posted December 27, 2015 Our piano never worked (in self play mode) anyway, so the only time it was played was when we had a party, and then they sent someone in to play it from the entertainment staff / band. He enjoyed it, we tipped him nicely, everyone was happy, except for the occupants of 6145, but if they weren't happy, we didn't know, they didn't speak English and we barely saw them. Northern Aurora Posted December 27, 2015 #9 Share Posted December 27, 2015 We were in 6145 on a different Millennium class ship, and definitely heard noise from the piano in the adjoining stateroom. A person in the PH could play the piano, and practiced a piece almost every day. I don't think that there was any "sound proof wall."
bwilson310 Posted December 30, 2015 #10 Share Posted December 30, 2015 Oh yeah 6145!! Good to here there is separation between rooms for sound proofing. If you're cruising the PC in April of 2017... Hello neighbor! We will be in 6147 for that cruise.
need2bespoiled Posted January 10, 2016 #11 Share Posted January 10, 2016 If you're cruising the PC in April of 2017... Hello neighbor! We will be in 6147 for that cruise. We had the cabin last month, definitely a great cabin for the Canal crossing! We prefer the port side due to some issues we've had on multiple M-class ships on Starboard but for a westbound crossing, I may prefer the other side if it weren't for that, but it would depend on if the rest of the sailing after the canal was north or south. need2bespoiled Posted January 10, 2016 #13 Share Posted January 10, 2016 If you don't mind my asking, what type of issues did you have? With 6147 specifically or the starboard side (which 6147 is not on)? The starboard side of M-Class ships has an odd, garbage like smell on some ship on some sailings, to varying degrees, so when we have an option, we'll choose port. 6147 specifically on our sailing could still use a refresh even though it was just in Drydock. Mostly small things they'll hopefully take care of over time. From the broken player baby grand piano, the old tub on the balcony (just the facia was replaced), poor TV over the inside tub, to not replacing bedside lights to include outlets which would seem to be so easy, they could still make many small improvements. There are more, but that gives you an idea of things. Of course, I may be nitpicking for some, but for the nightly rate, it should be pretty close to perfect. Happy sailing, Jenna Understood completely. We are in the hopes with our particular cruise being in April of 2017, that some these items will be handled prior to our boarding. We understand that not every single detail will be handled while in dry dock, but while at sea or while in port (this we c]gather from what we have read on other posts and threads). Regardless, we know we will have a wonderful time while aboard the Infinity.
