to old for studio cabin?

Looking at a studio on epic for transatlantic crossing 30 October. At 55 am I a bit old for a studio, or what is the average age in the studios. Dont want to arrive and feel like the dad or old man.

I had booked a studio on Pride of America. I ended up cancelling that cruise for other reasons. I just turned 58. I'm not too old for a studio, although I'm probably too old to enjoy the gatherings in the lounge, etc.

I am 70 and I LOVE Studio cabins. Rarely, however use the Studio Lounge. TOO BUSY

I saw many people in their 60s at the solo gathering, probably a third of the crowd. I would imagine the average age is higher for TAs. Go!

There is such a big misconception about that. It is just a room to sleep so why should age matter? Not all people booked in a studio cabin are traveling solo or singles and most don't even use the lounge.

No one cares, do whatever you like.

I've sailed in Studio cabins three times. Each time there was a wide demographic when it came to age with the majority of people over 40.

 

You definitely will not be out of place. It's a fun experience.

The studios are more for just sleeping for the most part. If you're concerned that you won't meet people, I don't think you'll have any problems with that at all. Transatlantics tend to have an older average age than a cruise to the caribbean. I was on the EPIC in a studio almost three years ago and there was a wide range of ages there. I was 29 when I went on the cruise, and some of the best people I met on the ship were probably around 55 and older.. there are several people I still keep in touch with. One woman I keep in contact with recently retired. The group of people I hung out with were in their 20s and well into their 60s, I am sure.

Absolutely not too old, there were plenty of people who stayed in studio cabins when I was on Breakaway who were in their 50's. Even saw an elderly gentleman who was in his eighties.

Must have been nice. On ours it was 62 and I would take the over on that number.

I am booked in my first NCL cruise in a studio cabin because I am tired of paying the single supplement. I am also one of the over 50 crowd.

53 here and just sailed in a studio over the holidays. There were people of all ages in the studios. It's also fully optional whether you wish to participate in any solo gathering or use of the lounge.

Please understand that going solo is not the same thing as cruising single! I am 68 and have cruised in the studios last year and an now booked for two more; one on the Breakaway on Jan 31 for a 14 day Caribbean cruise from NYC, and the next a ten day Mediterranean cruise on the Epic from Barcelona. I am actually in a committed relationship and in no way looking for any potential dates; but traveling in the studios offers not just a lower rate, but also the opportunity to choose whether or not I wish to do things alone, or to choose to have dinner, go to shows, and/or excursions with other solos with no pressures on do anything else but to have companionship. However, on the cruise last year I did make a couple of friends and on my next cruise, one of them will be going too. There is no older or younger to going in the studios; I have seen people from their 30's to their70's, but it gave a great opportunity for those truly traveling on their own to have dinner companions; show reservations with others, and maybe even excursions with others and possibly an opportunity to make a new friend or more.
