Soda and More Drinks Package

Can anyone answer a few questions about the above package.

Do you have to buy the package for the whole cruise or can you purchase part way through?

What drinks exactly are included e.g. are all mocktails included or only a select few?

Can the package be used in all restaurants?

Where is the included hot chocolate available? If my wife has a coffee in the specialist coffee shop can I use the package there to have a hot chocolate?

Thank you for any replies.

The package is for the entire cruise only. It includes all soft drinks, juices, mocktails, milkshakes(on the ships that offer them), and hot chocolate. The hot chocolate can be bought at the same places you get coffee. You can get drinks at any bar and restaurant on the ship.

When we cruised on Emerald last July the only mocktails available on the menu was limited to 4 or 5 and not as good a choice as previously and my favourite Chocobanana?? wasnt one of them and when I asked waiters in different bars if you could have others were told NO only those in the bar menu and was very disappointed.

Each of you can use your own package to get mocktails or hot chocolate wherever available. The unlimited package is, of course, per-person and not shareable. It's a sticker on the cruise card of the person buying it, not a separate card.

All unlimited drink packages are charged for the total number of nights on the cruise no matter when you purchase it. It's not pro-rated. For a 7-night cruise, you'll pay for seven nights.

That has never been my experience, and not one I have heard before. Did you ask why? Sometimes I have been unable to get a chocobanana due to the particular bar being out of bananas.

All mocktails are included your experience was very unfortunate.

My son loves his mocktail Pina Colada!!! We purchased this for him on our last cruise (he was 15) and the bartenders literally gave him ANY non-alcoholic things he asked for. One bartender make him a special mocktail that he created himself.

We are definitely buying him another one for our upcoming cruise. At 17 he still knows how to enjoy a good mocktail.

I can remember when we were disappointed, some time back, when we were told no to anything but soda on the card we had. I had thought that some mocktails and juices might be included, but they weren't.
It depends on which package you purchased. If you bought just the soda package (which is no longer available), then you'd get just soda. It sounds like this is what you purchased. If you purchased the Soda & More package, you'd get soda, juice, mocktails, etc.

For a soda drinker like my DH, this package is an excellent deal; it was $7 per day, for unlimited sodas, mocktails (I think he had one) of any sort, and hot chocolate (again, I think he had this once). It does not include coffee, that is an additional card if you want premium coffees. I was fine with the coffee in the buffet for my one caffeine boost a day.

On our last sailing I purchased one, I never was interested in the past because I do not care for soda. But then I read a post,(thank u CC) about the mocktails, hot choc and malts being included, I was in. Ended up being a great value. There were no restrictions on what mocktail I could request. I even used some booze from our mini bar to spice up a few of my drinks. After I have 1 or 2 drinks I always continue with mocktails so this package worked great for me. I also felt if the seas got rough gingerale was available ......but let's not count calories.............however, I will say, I ate no desserts on our last sailing as I preferred a mocktail.

I was able to order my mocktails at all venues that served drinks. I always was very clear about it being a mocktail.

I only ordered Hot Choc at the TC.

those Chocobanas are great....Actually when I ordered a Key west Cooler the bar tender went to another bar to get an ingredient his bar lacked. My experience with this package and any mocktail I wanted on the Crown was great.

  • 2 weeks later...
Hi, we are considering getting this on our upcoming Emerald cruise, could anyone tell me if any other diet sodas are included, or is it just Diet Coke, thanks

Just diet coke. It is for soda from the soda gun... They do have sprite Zero in cans but those are not included in the package.

One thing I learned, if you have a bad insulated cup, get it replaced right away. On our Valentine's week cruise, the lid on my cup didn't fit right. I waited to see about getting it replaced and it was too late. They couldn't come up with another for me. No big deal but they only seem to have those out the first day or 2 and after that, they're gone.

What juices are included? Fresh squeezed OJ? Are these juices available at any of the bars? Thanks

Fresh squeezed juice is not included in the soda package. I have been on a cruise where it has been included in the All Inclusive Beverage Package, but on our last cruise they would not give us fresh squeezed OJ with the AIBP. So, not sure if it was just the ship, or new Princess policy. Given that princess is trying to cut costs, I'd assume all cruises.

You can also get soda cans with the AIBP, but if all you drink is soda, spending $56.35 per day is way too much money!!

Only ever seen Diet Coke, but then that's what I drink anyway.

Soda and More includes soda from a can... I overdose on the Root Beer. They will not give you the can but you can ask for a large cup:-)

It is supposed to be Gun only, but I think that when they have a version in the can but not in the gun they often break the rules, all you can do is ask.
