breakinghbts Posted February 24, 2016 #26 Share Posted February 24, 2016 Does anyone know if this is starting on cruises that depart on or after 3/1, or just on 3/1 changes go into effect, regardless of sail date? I'm leaving on 2/29 for a quick 4 day, and would love to know if on the 2nd day of the cruise I'll be able to take advantage of these new changes. If anyone knows, please post! Thanks! -Tony@PVD

Thanks! -Tony@PVD Per Carnival, "We have enhanced CHEERS! to include a greater variety of non-alcoholic beverages, as well as a wider selection of high quality brand-name spirits and wines by the glass. The enhanced program will be available for purchase March 1, 2016 for cruise departures March 2, 2016 and onward. lisajm Posted February 24, 2016 #29 Share Posted February 24, 2016 Just off the phone with Carnival. They do not accept gift cards over the phone or on line for Cheers package:(
hard_eight Posted February 24, 2016 #30 Share Posted February 24, 2016 (edited) Program allows for unlimited Zero-Proof beverages but only one beverage at a time may be ordered using CHEERS! - sharing is not permitted. There is a 5 minute wait time between ordering drinks. Guests may purchase a round of drinks for themselves and friends. One drink will count towards the CHEERS! program and the remaining drinks will be charged to the guest's Sail and Sign account. Program allows for up to 15 alcoholic drinks per 24 hour period (6:00am-6:00am); once the limit is reached, the guest will not be served ANY additional alcoholic drinks. *from the link above Edited February 24, 2016 by hard_eight
ccw2891 Posted February 24, 2016 #31 Share Posted February 24, 2016 (edited) I was wondering about the not being able to use gift cards ahead of time statement also? I didn't know you couldn't. Edit ** I see where someone said they don't accept them over the phone or online, but can you purchase the program then use your gift card at the guest services desk when you settle your S&S account? cruizinisthebest Posted February 24, 2016 #32 Share Posted February 24, 2016 Nothing purchased through Bon voyage/gift shops can be paid for with gift cards in advance. You can load them onto your onboard account once you get on the ship or during check in at the port. But now with the higher pricing of cheers if you get it onboard, it's cheaper to use a credit card and get it in advance online. Jeepenfun Posted February 24, 2016 #33 Share Posted February 24, 2016 its still $50 a day. you gotta drink A LOT each day to make it worth while. for me and the amount i drink whether it be soda, iced coffees, beer or mixers it is still A LOT cheaper for me to buy the drinks individually each day. Now if you drink a lot and have a drink of some sort in you hands all day long its worth it.

I have been saving up gift cards as well to pay for Cheers but I can't use them ahead of time and I am going on an 8 day cruise which means my husband and I would pay $80 more just to use them. I have no other use for them and it is my Cheers money so I don't want to just save them for some other cruise some other year. ARGH
RiotAct Posted February 24, 2016 #36 Share Posted February 24, 2016 Very cool that they raised the price limit and are now including energy drinks... will those count against the 15/day limit? Would kind of suck if so.

But I would probably just go ahead and pay the onboard price than tie up money charging it. Especially if I wasn't planning on using the gift cards for anything else onboard. You can always book another cruise with them. Buy some excursions. Use them for your tips. Even if you prepaid those, you can have them refunded and then pay for them using your loaded gift cards instead. crazy4themouse Posted February 25, 2016 #39 Share Posted February 25, 2016 Just hoping for some clarification... Our cruise sails 3/6, but we've already pre-purchased the Cheers program. It was the same $49.95/day that it says the new one will be if bought ahead of time. So are we still good for the new program guidelines even though we've already purchased it? Rare jimbo5544 Posted February 25, 2016 #40 Share Posted February 25, 2016 (edited) Do you say anything that isn't belittling? I don't know how you got to 10,000 posts trolling people. You were downright rude to that Chali lady. Not at all, it was an answer. There is no questions there. The info was specific, there is no question, they have not removed the 15 drink limit and both parties in a cabin have to participate. Trolling people? Really. I say a lot here, none of it is belittling, sadly with your post, we can;t say the same thing, Edited February 25, 2016 by jimbo5544
Rare jimbo5544 Posted February 25, 2016 #41 Share Posted February 25, 2016 It's ok, I didn't take it as belittling. He was right, I can't imagine they would increase it. No worries! That's exactly what I was wondering! I'm very excited!!! I am absolutely getting this on our cruise on the Magic this April! My husband doesn't need it, bc he usually gets free drinks rather quickly from the casino. And luckily, due to the fact that we are a family of 5...he and I are in separate rooms/bookings!!! Yippee!!!

AHS123 Posted February 25, 2016 #44 Share Posted February 25, 2016 It was not meant as such. Maybe, but you have posted here before saying you are caustic or coarse (forget which you used) so you have admitted you come here to stir and then post on JH's FB page what you read here. Give it a rest and improve your attitude, it's so much less stressful on you and us.

I think this is one of the biggest adds to the program, interesting and they obviously listened to feedback with this as well as other enhancements.
