DeeCT Posted February 25, 2016 #1 Share Posted February 25, 2016 (edited) So I received and booked a comped cruise from Caesars Atlantic City, we were given a inside cabin and upgraded to a OV. I wasn't sure if these comped cruises are eligible for a upsell closer to the sail date. Every cruise I have ever been on I have been lucky enough to get great upsells to suites, kinda hoping lightning will strike 3 times :) Edited February 25, 2016 by DeeCT
Rare BirdTravels Posted February 25, 2016 #2 Share Posted February 25, 2016 Never hurts to ask. Call for an upsell 2 weeks to cruise. It will be a big jump from an OV to and suite. Maybe a OV to a balcony or mini-suite.
Sand and Seas Posted February 25, 2016 #3 Share Posted February 25, 2016 We always sail on CET or CAS comped cruises and once got an email with an offer to upgrade to the Haven. We weren't interested and didn't follow up. We have been on 4 or 5 NCL cruises each year for the last 3 years but only received one of these offers once. Casino Comp Chick Posted February 25, 2016 #4 Share Posted February 25, 2016 You stand a better chance if you are booked in a high demand balcony/mini-suite (B9-B6-B1-M9-M6-M1) otherwise your upsell will probably be a higher cost than someone else's offer. i.e. Your offer to a low haven would be $750-$1000 pp where another persons offer would be $500 pp.
labbro58 Posted February 25, 2016 #5 Share Posted February 25, 2016 We were on the Sun this summer for Alaskan cruise using our Caesars certificate - paid to upgrade to balcony cabin when originally booked and 2 weeks before the cruise got an email upsell offer for an Aft suite for $500 pp. Totally worth it....got a 2 room suite with all the added "suite perks" plus the largest balcony! Perfect for Alaska cruise!

Perfect for Alaska cruise! We always cruise through CAS. We take their offer for the cruise we want to go on, then pay to upgrade to the cabin we want. I suppose we're missing a bet by not waiting to see if an upsell is offered, but we've been happy with this system as it allows us to sail in the cabin we want, usually at a much lower cost. DeeCT Posted February 25, 2016 Author #7 Share Posted February 25, 2016 Thanks everyone, we are totally happy with our cabin, but I wouldn't be opposed taking a upsell if the chance came along!

Rare mking8288 Posted February 26, 2016 #9 Share Posted February 26, 2016 (edited) We have another AC casino's certificate, just called in this week to check and agent immediately quoted us the price to upgrade from the usual Inside to Oceanview for a nominal, and a bit higher for Balcony - it's past final payment cutoff and apparently good availability of cabins in all categories. Prices beginning to be adjusted to sell the remaining inventory - cruising from homeport and with FCR to offset, Mrs. feeling that we should wait a bit closer in, LOL. Our niece's family of 4 getting an offer from CAS directly and they got a ridiciously low upgrade price for a mini-suite sailing next month :D - just a minor "problem" aside, airfares to MIA would cost them 2 legs and 1 arm plus lots of loose changes, however. Edited February 26, 2016 by mking8288

Check it out ! Don't give up so easily !
